@@ottovangogh9477 The issue was the angle of attachment and the poor ground support. They were using pulleys and snatch blocks, but the soil prevented them from putting down any stable winch points, so they were forced to do direct pulls. This whole operation just shows how soviet tanks are better. If it was a T-72, it would have rapidly disassembled at the first RPG hit, making a risky rescue operation unnecessary

Can you put a battlefield scale icon in the bottom right please?? I just want a sense of how much ground these unit tokens cover when they do things like go down a highway, road, intersection, or objective marker. Please!

The REME engineers (different from RE) I think, got Mentions In Dispatches. Cpl Garrett unfortunately succumbed to PTSD and sadly became a casualty in the years afterwards.

Both Cpl J Garrett and Cpl J Symmons both got mentioned in despatches even though they did a lot more than that what is told here. I had the honour of serving with them both in The SCOTS DG

Since I know that a lot of people have been chomping at the bit to get 'my take' on this, here it goes: The Operations Room is the finest military documentary source outside of getting an actual intelligence brief. Brits are known for being concise and clearly understandable when they present information in a military setting (most of the time). Another great presentation, you keep me Craving for more! Also, Stuntcawk and The Operations Room are both bad asses for an additional reason. The first for a hardcore name and the latter for having the huevos enough to post their comment!

Now I realized the part where they have to rescue the stranded tank was probably inspiration for The Bog from COD4. It was night time, corrosive green tinted night visions, firefight around a stranded tank in a Middle Eastern city, the rescue by fire support. The details lined up pretty well even though IW changed the combatants for the sake of a fictional plot.
