My dog and I head up the Gunflint Trail near the BWCA on the border of Canada to do some hiking and fishing. We first have to take shelter from a thunderstorm before being surprised by incredible northern lights due to a historic solar storm.

Jack, there's something to be said about being all snug and warm in the wilderness. Looking out the window, watching it rain. Ellie really is having her best life when she is out hiking with you. Love the look on Ellie's face when she was laying in the water at the end of the hike lol She is so funny when she goes swimming and then gets out and rolls in the mud lol. Really lovely hike and better luck next time with fishing. Cant wait to see the new cabin x

It is so good to see you and Miss Ellie out and about. What a lovely spot you picked to camp. I could've easily fallen asleep listening to the rain ☔. I was feeling pretty down tonight. Then I saw gorgeous Ellie jump in the cold water and enjoy a swim, before rolling herself dry in the grass, with total, joyful abandon. I have just started watching your videos. I live in East Tennessee at the foothills of The Great Smokey Mountains! We were blessed to see the Northern Lights I think that is the first time they've been visible in this area since back in the early forties! Your video was breathtaking thanks for taking us along! Your beautiful dog is enough to melt my heart. I suppose, being a retriever, she will naturally love the water but to see her in that stream with such a big smile on her face is a real treat. Oh yes, the Northern Lights were stunning too. We don't have such a thing in New Zealand except for a less spectacular version call the Southern Lights but I'd have to travel over 1200kms and invest my life's savings to see them. Keep up the lovely videos. I'm so glad I discovered your channel, I'm hooked!

The northern lights were incredible! It was nice to see Ellie again and I get a kick out of her swimming in the lake and then rolling in the dirt after shaking the water off. I'm sitting at home warm by the wood stove. It's been windy and rainy today here in Washington State on the east side.

You have reminded me of the years of camping up in the BWCAW/Quetico… the peace of the rain on the tent, campfires, fishing… with friends, canoes, my German Shepherd, creating the most unique cuisines (always with the bits of insect protein…)the Peace of reading in the rain, sketching of the rocks water & trees! Aw man, I thought for sure you were going to have fresh fried fish for supper. It’s like you said, there’s always next time. Northern lights defy explanation I find. You do get them out in Saskatchewan. One time we had blue and dark pink and they danced across the sky. To me it makes God feel so close it’s like you could put your hand out and touch the night sky. I’m glad Ellie, our favorite sidekick, was able to join you. She sure loves the hikes. Thank you for sharing another awesome camping trip, until next time, take care. ♥️🇨🇦

I am a ham operator and the last days of May 2024 there were several sunspots including one big one and the 10.7 Centermeter flux was over 200 which is a very strong an indicator of how strong the sunspot activity was on a site called Spaceweather.

Oh yeah my old dog 15 years he's been raised on construction sites. He loves it. They are building houses out here by me in the woods. And I literally had to go get him by the collar and bring him home because he loves being around that spruce framing.

Jack, When you get a fish bite, yank your rod tip up quickly. That's how you snag a fish. In video, you keep turning the spool handle. Not criticizing. You said you haven't fished much I'm a hell of a fisher woman- 60 yrs From Pittsburgh, Pa ( we have 3 rivers that meet and run into The Ohio River. Sorry to say so much but you Sir, AMAZE ME !

We stayed in Grand Marais MN this weekend during the Aurora, it was so incredible! We took the Gunflint trail during the rain and sat on the beach during the northern lights! What an awesome video, it was like reliving some of the magic of that weekend for us!

I enjoyed the contrast between the brilliant green of the pines and the brown foliage. Out with the old and in with the new. Speaking of which super excited for the new trailer. You and Ellie are also looking especially vibrant. Glad to see you both happy and healthy. ❤

This was my favourite of your videos yet. I usually like the winter season videos, but this was amazing. Northern lights, hiking, and fishing. The cabin is terrific. There is enough room, and lots of comfortable living there. Ellie sermed to enjoy it. Thanks for the great video..

Northern lights, wow. We are out of Canada so missed it, but felt it with your video. Again Ellie is such a great dog and reminds me of our Golden retriever we had for 12 years. We still love her. Have a nice week and god bless! 🙏🐕‍🦺🌞😎

I think this is one of my favorite adventures you have been on. There are many but this one is up there. So peaceful and everything I love about getting out and being in nature.
