This was great! Thank you. I have Hoshimotos and get so frustrated having to constantly change my dose of synthroid. And I need to get my levels checked again but have been avoiding the lab during COVID. This may have given me the push I needed.

Thank you for the information. My TSH was 3 in December 2019. I’ve been on 75mcg Levothyroxine for 20 years. I started feeling bad in February 2020 and was tested again and my TSH had shot to 9. Dose increased to 100mcg. I was tested again in May as I was showing peri menopausal symptoms and my TSH had dropped to 0.54. They didn’t change my dose but acknowledged I was definitely in peri menopause. This month (July 2020) I have been suffering with very bad lightheaded feeling and very painful acid reflux. My U.K. doctors have been terrible during lockdown and not been helpful at all. They haven’t even put on my record about the reflux. I’m treating myself with omaprozole. They tested my blood again this week and it’s 3.75 but they won’t do anything for another 10 weeks and then test again!!! I just want to feel 80% well. The lightheaded ness and tight chest/acid throat are the worst. I can cope with hot flushes and mood swings but the weird head/throat/chest are unbearable. Thanks again. Sara in the UK 🇬🇧

This was very helpful! I have Grave's disease and had a hysterectomy plus oophorectomy 2 years ago which threw me into menopause right away. At my last Endocrinologist appointment, my bloodwork came back a little hypothyroid. My Endocrinologist adjusted my medication a hair. Now I'm thinking I'm going HYPERthyroid again. For the past week my hot flashes have been more intense and coming more often and I also have the racing heart. It's very difficult to figure out if it's Grave's or menopause!

This is very good to hear especially being recently tested for first off palpitations in heart and 44 pound weight loss w/o trying,no appetite, hot fever symptoms ,not able to sleep. My bloodwork showed that my TSH levels were low below 0.387 and my thyrotropin receptor ab 8.82. T3,T4 levels average. I am 53 menopausal, but recently had and now having a menstrual cycle. I advised the doctor that I was taking way more dosage of vitamin D3, then prescribed without knowing the severity. Dr retesting in 3weeks. No meds administered.

Wauw, need to watch this again with pen and paper for all the info. I let the doc test my thyroid because I didn't loos a gram of Wright (also don't really gain). Everything was ok except for the part in the brain wich is overproducing. So now I have to let radiology check it out. I am 46 and already 1,5 year have sweaty nights and even far more longer very low to no libido, always tired also a long time. So frustrating, I'm curious what comes out of it. Tnx for your informative video.

Interesting, thanks, my TSH is 5.5, I have hypothyroidism, maybe hashimotos? I need an antibody test, but as yet I’ve not been able to get these done at my GP surgery. I have a referral to see an endocrinologist in a few months for clarity in whether I’m needing my levothyroxine increased. I had surgical removal of a very large fibroid ten years ago and removal of both ovaries as they had cysts on them. I’m now 53. Im on oestrogen patches. I’m doing the Keto diet and am hoping this may help any autoimmunity like with gluten. I’ve stopped eating all grains. Also I’ve read that the liver converts T4 to T3 and not the thyroid. So what is the thyroid for? Is it to get the signals from the hypothalamus and pituitary gland? Also the adrenals can be involved? I’m trying to heal myself with a good diet. It’s all rather confusing for me really and was hoping that you may be able to advise? I’m so tired all the time and my metabolism is so slow.

HI Angela. I thank you for all that information - that will surly help your doctor. keep a journal of your symptoms! While not giving direct medical advice, it seems that if you are tired, I would consider increase the synthroid dose and possible the estrogen dose. I am just about to post a video on surgical menopause! Good luck - you are certainly doing great work with your diet.

My mother had a hip fracture at my age and I have been having hip pain..and neck pain...I had a dislocated hip when pregant and at 40 had to have C4 disc fusion with a piece of that same hip. I told them to take the bone donation from my other hip they ignored me and took it from the injured hip. Recently I developed pernicious enemia and am on meds for that. Hey Lynne, i also take 125 mg levothyroxine for hypothyroidism (no Hashimoto) about 20 years now. I am 43 years old and in perimenopause. I learned a couple of years ago that selenium is important for thyroid and good fats help with hormone balancing. I have some very uncomfortable premenopausal symptoms the past year and my GP just wants me to take the oral anticonceptiepil. I don't want to take more synthetic hormones and i believe there has to be a way to balance hormones in a more natural way. A friend of mine (who has no problems with thyroid btw) started using progesteron creme from Dr Lee with good results. She had her progesteron tested and it was extremely low. I know progesteron and thyroid have a connection too. I don't have the money to test my progesteron levels but it decided i rather try first this natural progestron creme before having to start with the synthetic hormones/oral anticonceptiepil. I have been using the creme a week now. Not long enough to say it is helping my perimenopausal symptoms or thyroid

Should never go just by TSH which is a pituitary hormone & not a thyroid hormone. TSH, T4, T3, TPO, Thyroglobulin should all be checked. Most people cannot convert T4 to T3. So we need additional T3. This is why Levothyroxine/Synthroid does not work for many patients & patients continue with symptoms. Optimal TSH should be no higher than 2.0. I function better on less.

Women get breast cancer women get hashimoto's or hypothyroidism what do they say the ratio is it's the same exact ratio as breast cancer so women with breast cancer I can bet you any amount of money they all have thyroid disease but does the primary physician Everett test for thyroid for half these women no they don't. I'm really curious to see about the men that get breast cancer very small percentage but are they the percentage that actually have hashimoto's or hypothyroidism
