Just thought I'd share, skipping the de-boning part by just cutting it in half along the bone. Faster and easier! And ironing and even microwaving the ti leaves works fine. It becomes shiny. Also, you can make these lei's ahead of time and freeze em till the event. Aloha

Thanks for that tip! Saved me a ton of time :)

SoFknHi how long can you freeze them for?
@darlenefernandes4426 жыл бұрын
Do you freeze all the leaves? Such as the diamond part to weave in? Or is it just the braid part?

How do you store it to keep it fresh before initial use? Is making it a week before needed too soon?
@purple_reign80834 жыл бұрын
So you always add the fluff from the braid on the right?

Muhalo Suzasaki =] and hafa adai from Guam! Any suggestions in using rafia. I am doing a project, the same concept with Ti leaves but using rafia. I do not have enough Ti leaves for 25 teenagers. But I do have a lot of rafia. I can possibly use Ti leave just for the Haku part?

My t-leaves were too short! Help! How do I add on or make it longer
@allisontomas31588 жыл бұрын
+Raquel K. I know this is kinda late, but what my aunties and I used to braid was green fabric. That way we manipulated the length of it to fit our waists. Is that what you meat by 'too short'? If not, sorry lol.

no, that's perfect! I'll use this method next graduation! thanks girl!

Very informative. thank you to the woman who created the lei. The person controlling the video, on the other hand, sounded a little bi#c@y; her voice seemed to lack any compassion or appreciation for what was being created.

This was a group of moms preparing leis for our kids and not meant as a tutorial. I made it public simply to share the knowledge so please take your zero-aloha spirit elsewhere. Additionally, learn to spell before u throw shade.
