This is a piece I always come back to when I am faced with tumultuous times and the universe tests me. Nobuo Uematsu's original piece is arranged beautifully for piano by fellow colleague Shiro Hamaguchi, and it's a piece that never ceases to calm me.
The stresses of being a music major alongside personal battles wears you down over time. Because of that, I often play this piece daily as a way to reflect and meditate. Tifa and her theme song give me the feeling of "home." What I mean is that this work bestows upon me a sense of security and belonging - that no matter where I am in life, it's going to be alright - much like how she is for Cloud and the others in the game.
I hope this piece provides the same sense of inner peace to everyone who listens to it.
