I put Fox risers on my 2018 Triumph Tiger XRT two years ago and have never looked back. Really dialed in my riding position perfectly. I’m 5’ 10” tall with a 32” inseam. I ride with the seat in the high position. Best addition I’ve put on my bike!

Once you get used to how the bike handles again it’s so much better. Even on the xc that has the higher risers as standards I was still having to reach for the bars

No, the bikes sold now. It's simple enough to do though. Take the sprocket cover off, use a hammer and punch to knock the tab up on the lock washer then i think its a 36mm nut to take off. If you leave the back wheel and chain on and get someone to hold the rear brake on to stop the nut spinning when removing it it will be easier.

I just ordered pair. your video actually clarifies how to put them on as I was wondering about slippage with the design but haven't seen any negative comments about that. looking for more comfort, I have 3/4" risers on my bike currently which helped a little but I still need more height and to bring the bars toward a little bit to help me to deal with my back and neck issues. I will update/reply to my own comment once installed🤙🏻

One point , Its important to leave a roughly even gap on either side of the clamps when tightening the bolts. The way it was done in the vid you would need to loosen off the top bolts once again after the position was finalised BEFORE the bottom bolts were tightened.

I just did this on my Tiger 800 XCA 2016. First l couldn't pull the bar higher, l thought l have to use longer cables but the culprit was the seat heating button. Just loose the hex screw on the left side of the button, take the thing off, and reroute the cable after you install the risers.

+MuddySump thanks buddy. I guess you simply learned then from Triumph? I would like to set up a small tool kit to take on journeys but I think a torque wrench will be too big especially for tire replacement. I guess I'll have to use common sense and not over tighten things while in the bush. Great vids. I will donate ASAP.
@MuddySump
@MuddySump 8 жыл бұрын
Yea. I had to check a few but some your undoing and tightening all the time so just remember. Wouldn't bother with a torque wrench for a bike toolkit. The amount of times you'd actually use it it wouldn't be worth carrying it around. Would prob be quiet bug too to get to 110nm

hello. I just installed these risers on my Tiger 800 after watching your video. thank you! One issue: Because I tightened the 8mm bolts first and then the 6 mm ones after I was done with the whole setup, after tightening everything, I noticed a bit of a gap left between the 6mm clamps that tighten the risers to the bike. I took a picture but not sure how to reply with it here. Did you have the same issue and that is ok, or should I redo everything?

If I am interested in mainly moving the bars closer to me on a 2012 Tiger XC, would I tighten the 2 bottom screws down first, rotate towards me, and then tighten the upper screws? It seems I would be covering the bottom screws when I pulled the bars towards me. Also, what color riser are you using? Clear anodized? Thanks.

Some water must have got to the bottom of the screws and seized them in. Can only keep trying what you’re already doing but the fasteners could break.

Just fitted a set of these to my 2013 XC ABS, they went on fine but I'm having a slight issue with the cables/wiring (throttle is OK in both locks, brake hose OK too) - The cables and wiring were clear of everything before but now they're a little tight and lay against the neck tubes of the frame and the top fork clamps. The bars move freely lock-to-lock but there are some creaking noises when I do this.. Any advice ?...
@MuddySump
@MuddySump 2 жыл бұрын
They can’t get set to every angle because of the cable length. Could see if there’s and play left in the cables to pull them through the frame a bit more.

Great thanks, managed to get some new handlebars fitted. Whilst on the topic, I was wondering if you could maybe help me out? I had a crash on my 2011 Tiger 800, needed a few new parts. I fitted new handlebars, clutch lever, left side fairings and left front indicator. I am now at the problem of having no response from the ignition switch. The bike starts up fine electronically, the usual "start up" whirring noise when you turn the key, but there is no response from the ignition switch. The clutch is definitely in, and the kickstand is up, but there is no noise when the ignition is pressed. I've tested the current to the switch with a multimeter and there's definitely power to the console, and the kill switch is in the "off" position. I can't think of anything else and wondered if you may be able to help? Do you know if there would be anything else "blocking" the bike from starting?
@MuddySump
@MuddySump 9 жыл бұрын
Sorry been working and never had time to reply. Did you have any luck with it yet? Has the battery got enough power to turn the bike over? It could still power up but not have enough to turn over. Make sure the clutch switch is going in properly, could try taking switch out of the lever housing and using your finger on it instead?
@35NJ
@35NJ 9 жыл бұрын
I just tried it with an external battery charger attached and it's still the same. I'm unsure where the "clutch switch" would be inside the lever housing?

If you take the clutch lever off and look inside where it is fitted too you will see the switch then. It's like a rod the lever sits against. If you can't see it It could of pulled out of the bracket when fitting the risers?
