wow I used to buy tiger nuts when I was at school but I was only 14 years old at the time and we used to buy liquorice stick as well both sold by the herbal store but that was a long time ago I am now 72 years old thanks for the memory!!

I tried these only the other day and all I got was a load of husk in my mouth and quite irritable feeling (tickling in the back of the throat) when trying to swallow them . Healthy they may be but I didn't think much of them and will stick with , almonds, cashews, Brazils and Pistachios as they offer health benefits to

Yellow Nutsedge is Cyperus esculentus. Chufa is Cyperus esculentus var. sativas. They are related but have distinct differences.

@David Hur I live in Las Vegas and I discovered these at my local grocery store (Natural Grocers)...this store is similar to Whole foods, Trader Joe's, or Sprouts... They also sell it in flour form... I put it in my gluten free nut bread recipe today...I hope this helps!

SuperfoodEvolution we eat them raw after washing or blend with dates as sweetener to drink. The chaff after grinding is mixed with another plant I can’t really remember to serve as a doughy food.

Honestly they taste bland and have a terrible texture. I soaked them overnight in salted water as I would any nut, as suggested.I had to spit the fiber out of my mouth. Nutritionally insignificant.
