5:20 The reason running (and punching) are so weird in dreams is because your body isn't getting a physical response. You don't feel your feet hitting the ground or your knee fully extending, so your brain keeps sending the "extend knee" signal while your body keeps doing nothing. You feel like you're sinking into the ground because your body doesn't actually feel the ground under your feet.

My 7th/8th grade teacher actually talked about when people say “like” a lot! She called them “buffering words” because you say them when you’re talking faster than your brain is processing what you want to say. But you don’t want to stop talking because you want to let them know that you have more to say.

I was terrified of being pregnant, too. It sucked. I was so nauseated. But the thing you feel weird about only weirds me out now thinking back on it. My daughter would churn, and the limbs would stretch from one side to the other. It felt a little weird, but it was OK. Now, thinking back on it, it makes me squirmy. Pregnancy- You are highly unlikely to see a hand/foot shape pop out if that helps. It feels like your sick, then it feels like butterflies, then you feel morbidly obese, then you have a baby. It can be harder for some people but in a sincerely normal situation it's really not *that* bad... it's a massive endeavor I won't pretend it's not hard but it's nothing like having some awful foreign being inside you. It's like, having a tiny version of you and your favorite person growing in the safest place on the planet, with you. You are so busy feeling so many other things dude, it's not gross ♡

So my first pregnancy was an intentional accident... It took 3 yrs and I had given up... The first time I saw his hand or foot press up like alien I felt the exact way and then I pushed back and it was like a bonding moment... My baby was connected to me like no one ever will... With my second son I couldn't wait until I could interact with him in my belly... The birthing process sucks don't get me wrong but it's definitely not the worst thing I've ever felt.... I was in more pain after my surgeries... I got an episiotomy both times which is truly the worst part is the healing... Being a mom is stressful as F but very rewarding if that's what you want, if not I recommend sticking with animals they're stressful in the most basic way instead of trying to teach a screaming toddler....

Today, I wouldn’t change it for the world, my son is my everything & reason for living 💗 I think you’d make an incredible mommy, if that’s what you’d want in the future 💗💗💗

So filler words actually mean the person is considering their thoughts more and forming them before speaking and linguistically, all languages have them (I use the 'thinking' word in Japanese when I speak it just like I use 'uh' in English). There is a lot of good and fun literature on it and while I know it's been ingrained into us to hate it or pay more attention to it by teachers/instructors, the people who use them often aren't necessarily not articulating well, they're just articulating more carefully than others and taking more time to gather their thoughts before speaking. As a person with AuDHD, I do this often because my brain is usually way further ahead of where my mouth is in terms of a conversation.

Especially when you get talked over. As soon as there's a break in your speech, people seem to want to interject. People don't leave time for you to gather your thoughts, so you use filler words. I've been yelled at for gathering my thoughts, and I've been criticized for using filler words. I just stopped giving a fk.
@TheAncientGeekoRoman
@TheAncientGeekoRoman Ай бұрын
@@ameliaduncan3236 Yes, same. I even use them when I’m typing (I almost started this sentence with “Like,” for example). It doesn’t mean the person isn’t articulate or educated (I’ve got 2 Master’s degrees and in a PhD program- guess what, people presenting at academic conferences use filler words while they’re presenting, too). Even if you don’t have loads of education, you’re just being more careful when speaking. That shows a lot of empathy too if you’re speaking about something intense or sensitive. I definitely use more when I’m trying to be comforting or discuss things that are important to me (talking about certain aspects of politics, for example). People talk over me all the time or interrupt me, too, and I’m that friend who often tries to say something but no one will listen. So when I get my turn to speak you’re gonna hear every filler word, and too bad if you don’t like it 🤷🏻 I’ve no longer cared for a while, too.

Honestly, I had a much harder pregnancy than most. And yet it was still amazing. I was terrified too, but feeling the baby inside of me was actually amazing. You feel an amazing connection and love for the baby and as they grow they respond to your voice and pressing on your belly they push against your hand from the inside. I know it sounds wild and creepy but it's actually so exciting and fun when you're going through it 😊

I don’t want any children myself and I feel like there’s this idea that you either have to want them, or hate them. I do not hate children in the slightest. Sometimes I fall into that “ugh baby go away” mindset but then I’m like wait?? I just don’t want them myself! I know I wouldn’t be a good parent, I get too overstimulated and can barely take care of myself but I think it’s a beautiful thing for the people who want it. I wish more people could accept the middle ground of “just because I don’t want to parent doesn’t mean that it’s not a great joy for many” or “parenting is my greatest joy but I understand that some people don’t have the right lifestyle”

@KM-ld9ln I have 3 kids of my own, as I said, I have ASD, they were all wanted and planned, and I love them more than life. But I don't want any more. And I completely understand people who don't want any at all. I believe that nobody can say what's best or ideal for anyone else. Only you know what's best for you, you know? Nobody gets to tell another person that what they want is wrong.

I agree with Kris on this one as well! I have never wanted kids (even as a child I did not play "family") and the idea of being pregnant and feeling the baby inside is pure body horror! So gross and disturbing! I don't even think babies are cute. I don't hate or dislike them and have babysat cousins and for friends of the family. Weirdly, kids seem to like me, but still not interested in having any myself. The number of times I've had to tell people (for more than 30 years now) that my mind isn't changing on this issue is insane. Taking college courses on human growth and development, anatomy and physiology, child psychology etc. just cemented my feelings on the issue. Nope! No thanks!
