I love all the songs by the Gaithers. I come here often to enjoy the singing as well as find comfort in time of need. And I sent this comforting song to all my friends. But, now Vevo has spoiled the worship mood altogether with their commercials and I find them very annoying.

On December 10th, 2013 I lost my Dad to Parkinson's Disease. A "Storm" he cheerfully weathered (thus, this song is quite fitting). Over a course of several years, we watched as this disease slowly ravaged his body. He lost weight, he lost the ability to walk, he lost his voice, his handwriting went from beautiful to unrecognizable and when he died weighing about 100 lbs ... they were feeding him through a tube in his stomach as he could no longer swallow. I wish that I had been able to be by his side holding his hand and encouraging him as he walked through deaths door. This song means so much to me and is so powerful and it certainly tells of the storm my Dad had to endure. My Mother says not once did he complain or become angry at God. I know I'll see him one day ... and what a day !!!

Amen. Nothing to complain about while going through a horrible disease! What a man of God. He knew where his hope come from! And where he was going! I wrote Till the Storm Passes By on Memorial Day of 1970. My father was extremely violent and I was also being abused by my step grandfather. I prayed for God's protection and help. The song was originally written in Flemish and translated into English by my mother. I gave the copyright ©️ to Mosie Lister.
