You can take the guards off the tile saws and turn the saw around and pull the pieces to you through the cut and its way better for me. Less gouges and the water sprays away from you not on you.

I think flint is the most underrated stone, because flint is very abundant, people turn a blind eye to it, some flints would look awesome if they were polished. I had a deep orange flint that looked almost like a carnelian when it was held up to the sun. Some flints even look a bit like agates.

The quality of your blades, make a huge difference in how the piece cuts.

You can get a thinner blade for the tile saw as well as one specifically for cutting stones or agates and feeding slower produces a smoother cut.

Great saw comparison video! Very helpful and useful information. It looked like the rock saw had a thinner blade too. Such beautiful agates and that green & red jasper is amazing! Thanks for sharing!✌️🤠

Very cool to do a video using two types of saws. Enjoyed it. Excellent specimens. Just love that jasper you guys find. The stuff I got out looking with Rogue is my favorite jasper by far. Rock on 😁🤘

Might want to put a new blade on that tile saw, the cut will be cleaner. But it’s all awesome regardless, thanks, I’m going to get my tile saw out and take the wife and kids to the river hunting for rocks. very inspiring.

@@RockHoundQuest negative, I have no sunstones. I think they are crazy over rated but would be cool to have one in my collection.

I really liked the green rock. Question, why don't you cut strat down the length of the stone.
@RockHoundQuest
@RockHoundQuest 2 жыл бұрын
I wanted to get a good mix of the green and red. If the cut looks good, I'll continue to slab from that angle. Sometimes I'm doing a test slice to see if the material is worth spending the time to cut and polish.

@@RockHoundQuest Thank you so much for your help. I should have known that most rocks have an amazing energy. You can feel if your in tune with the earth. There's a certain feel when held long enough. All kinds of different energy hits you just right. Bless you all for sharing your experience with all of us people's lol. I enjoy your video's.

don't you think that if you clamped the stone to a improvised sled and ran it along the tile saw's fence and with a cheap lapidary blade, that your results would be a whole lot different? It's unfair to compare a cut that's guided to one that's not...

CHICAGO ELECTRIC WITH A CONTINUAL Rim diamond blade is a great entry level saw 108.00 dollars for all including two year warranty at Harbour Frieght I had a Fourth of July 20 percent coupon , but I agree keep your good rocks for the ten inch High Tech for when you can afford one nice video. Yes you do get the scatches so practice on junk rocks not agate if you can bear 🐻 not opening one of those 🎁 presents.
