Tim is a brilliant lyricist, musician, comedian, pragmatist, stage performer, poet, and all round the one performer you need to see once in your life. He is so gifted with talent that it shouldn't be missed

It's actually part of the reason he stepped back from the comedy more than a decade ago, the level of fame he had reached at that point freaked him out and he had the intelligence to notice how so much fame can change a person when people don't say no to them and constantly stroke their ego. I agree he should be more well known but he put his family first so they could have a more normal life.

I love Tim Minchin. I saw him live a few years ago. He didn't play this song unfortunately, but plenty of other classics. He is just oozing talent and intelligence. Some other good ones are: "Thank You God". "Prejudice", which has been reacted to a lot because it catches American audiences out. "Rock'n'Roll Nerd", which is pretty old, but a great song and "White Wine in the Sun", which is less a comedy song and more of a song where he appreciates going back to Oz at Christmas when living in the UK. (Which I can relate to.)

So excited to see you react to this, Tim is just brilliant. You’d never guess he can’t even read music!! He’s essentially a self taught pianist, although he did have some training, he admits that it wasn’t really for him so he resorted to teaching himself. C#minor was the perfect choice for this melancholy up yours to the judgemental record industry. Thank you hairy Chris for the recommendation 😆 👍

Minchin has the midas touch... everything he touches is quality. Comedian, Singer, Songwriter, Actor, Director, Scriptwriter, Playwright and a monster on the keys.

He has been retired from comedy for over a decade, you will hear him perform some of his old comedy songs still but you won't be getting any new comedy material from Tim. I would say he's one of the greatest musicians and modern day composers though

Tim Minchin also wrote the music and lyrics to the very successful musical, 'Matilda The Musical', which is an adaptation of the children's book, ' Matilda', written by Roald Dahl. It has received many awards. The film adaptation of the musical is to be released in December 2022 by Netflix. The kids (and adults) can't wait!

One of the best entertainers on the Planet. Thanks for this. If you get a chance, have a look at 'Storm'. A 9 minute beat poem. His comedy intelligence is absolutely brilliant in that one. A true wordsmith.

I would love to see Bill Bailey and Tim Minchin together. The only problem is that visually, musically and comedically they would create a critical mass and destroy the universe. Want more clever musical comedy? Try Axis of Awesome's How To Write a Love Song.

Also worth taking into account that this song was played after an already 2 hour long performance, to still have that amount of stamina to perform such an intricate and challenging song is so impressive and yes the bare feet is his thing, he gets quite anxious before going onstage so bare feet makes him feel like he's playing in his living room

Just a little bit of info, he is self taught piano wise. and that piano was specially made for Tim, it wasn't a Yamaha, it was a Yama HAHAHAHAHA Hi from Australia.

A great song and bonus track would be Tim’s White Wine in the Sun, which he wrote for his baby daughter, followed by Lullaby, which he wrote for his baby son. Both are wonderful songs, but in VERY different ways. I’m sure Chris, the Hairy Australian, can confirm this.

The multi talented, very witty and clever Mr Minchin. I have seen him improvise a song live on a quiz show. As others have said White wine in the sun is a great song. Prejudice is also worth a listen.

You should see Tim as Judas in the Jesus Christ Superstar Live Arena Tour or playing 6 sold out nights at Royal Albert Hall with the 60 piece Heritage Orchestra or as Friar Tuck in 2018 Robin Hood or composing the lyrics and music for Matilda the Musical winner of 4 Tony Awards, 12 nominations or as writer, executive producer, starring with Milly Alcock, now in its 2nd season, Upright, the story of a man and a 16 year old runaway driving across Australia to return the family piano, or after 7 year absence returning with the 2019 BACK tour, a slightly matured Tim, a touch cynical, less silly, even more clever and his music has gone to another level.

Thanks guys for getting too Tim, he is a lovely man who just happens to be a genius and brilliant in so many areas. His performance as Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar was fantastic so that is worth a look see. The show also featured John Legend and Melanie C (ex Spice Girls) and I would highly recommend it. That's not really true, he had lessons from the age of 8-11 years old but he is largely self taught and is not even close to being classically trained, find someone who has had double the training of Tim and I can promise they are not nearly in the same league as a pianist

Is there anything you two aren't rubbish at? ;) Cauldron of bats is nice, as is a shadow of jaguars. Tim Minchin is indeed a genius. That bit where he went off on the piano made me think a little of Chico Marx (who did it better, but that's nothing against Mr. Minchin). Tim Minchin is hilarious in a very original way as well as incredibly creative.

Prejudice is soooo ridiculously overrated, its over played and Tim literally wrote in less than 10 minutes while sat on the freaking toilet!! Woody Allen Jesus, Cont, Angry(feet), 10 foot cock and a few hundred Virginia and lullaby are all far better songs and there aren't like 500 reactions to them either
