The section you said you liked the most was actually a callback to Ky's classic theme Holy Orders. It's pretty interesting that that stood out to you without any prior knowledge.

8:10 mentioning that this bit is your favorite is pretty funny considering thats actually his theme from some of the older games “Holy Orders (Be Just or Be Dead)”

Fun fact, he's named after the members of Helloween/Gamma Ray (Kai Hansen/Michael Kiske). Of course the power metal representation character is a powerful good boy. And if you're an Yngwie or Metallica fan, Ky's most powerful attacks are "Rising Force" and "Ride the Lightning." The character Jack'O is also a huge Helloween reference, and her Instant Kill is even called "I want out." Shit, I-No's overdrive is called "Gamma Ray."

Thank you for the interesting video. Every time I watch the series, I look forward to your reactions to Drifts and Necessary Discrepancy. I imagine there might have been advice to do them last, after finishing reactions to other GGST music, and I agree with that. But it's not easy to wait...

I remember you've mentioned preferring instrumentals over lyrics, so once you're done with the Strive themes I definitely recommend Holy Orders (be just or be dead) which is referenced in the main riff of the song. Its one of the more iconic instrumental songs and has many variations, so I'd recommend 3, which I'm pretty sure is the newest

Definently react to Ky's old theme, "Holy Orders (Be Just Or Be Dead)" from Guilty Gear X2, soon. As ppl have said it's the reference for the latter half of this themes guitar solo, and it's also just one of the best and most popular songs in the series at least among the old games Fighting games can be hard yeah but actually as far as they go, Strive is quite beginner friendly and has some pretty effective tutorials. Nobody can force you to do anything but getting your butt beat can be an amazing learning experience if you have real motivation to get good. Otherwise, go to the arcade mode if you want some good little story routes for each character. The arcade routes are all 8 fights, with story happening in the 1st and 8th, and sometimes the 7th if you perform well (you'll know if the character you faced in the first fight reappears on the 7th), and if you perform super well you can get a secret stage 9 boss that is more unfair than stage 8s boss but gets you a cooler ending usually. The base game characters all fight Nagoriyuki as their boss and the storylines are all pretty similar, the season 1 DLC characters all still fight Nago but their stories are more unique, and then from season 2 DLC onwards the characters all have unique stories and unique bosses, so those ones are rly good. If you don't wanna spend the money on all of them then I'll vouch for Bridget, Sin and A.B.A for being really good demonstrations if their personalities/continuing their story, and Elphelts for continuing her story while also being hilarious Ky Kiske is just as much the main character as Sol Badguy is. They have that Goku/Vegeta, Naruto/Sasuke, Ryu/Ken, legendary rivalry sort of dynamic. Ky is from France and was orphaned in a Gear attack, only to be found by the leader of the Sacred Order of Holy Knights, Kliff Undersn. He was extremely young but he proved himself to Kliff enough to join the order where he just became such a killing machine. Despite being human, Sol describes Ky's fighting style during the crusades as truly monstrous, and it's been pretty much finally settled that Ky mops the floor with Sol in canon. His story is about his transition from a traumatized child of war to that crazy bloody killing machine, only to have his world turned upside down during the final fight with Justice, the Gear that waged war against all of humanity and uses her power to control all other Gears. She told Ky that she doesn't view what she does as evil because it was what man created her to do. It's her "Justice". Years after Justices death, a rumor about a 2nd commander class Gear emerging made the rounds, which turned out to be Justices daughter Dizzy, causing everyone and their mother to seek the bounty put out for her death, but when Ky realized she was peaceful and scared and just longing for connection, he stopped Sol from killing her and promised to show her the world. They eventually fell in love and had a son together, a really bizarre twist that had Ky's mind spinning but he was also just so happy with them. It's also around this time that he was appointed as 1 of 3 kings of a new country called Illyria, through popular vote, so his motivations for the remainder of the series are to push for rights for the remaining, peaceful gears to allow them to coexist in society. He's just a righteous man who fights for what he believes is right for humanity and for his wife and child.

You should react to Blazblue as most of them have lead guitar! They even have the same composer. Edit: Also you get to enjoy instrumentals the whole way through. There are only a handful of songs with lyrics, and most are Japanese.

The funny bit about you trying to explain your favorite part and then giving up and finding it is that anyone that's ever played Guilty Gear immediately knew exactly what part you meant when you said "the harmony" It's one of the most iconic bits of Guilty Gear music that was ever put to paper. It's one of those bits that inspires people to learn guitar
