This is Anette Olzen. All the Nightwish singers have their 'stand outs' and this is one of Anette's. A really great song, but it certainly isn't metal. A lot of Nightwish songs aren't metal. This is really mid-period Nightwish, rather than older. BTW Moondance is from the Tarja era, but doesn't have a singer. BTW, as a Gary Moore fan, you should probably check out the cover of "Thunder Rising" by the band "Pythia". I like that band almost as much as I do Nightwish.

Brand New Day is kind of a different song for Babymetal because it's pretty chill and vibey, which is not something they do much. It's meant to be in the style of Polyphia, but I guess Babymetal's interpretation of Polyphia is more appealing to you than Polyphia itself. Personally, I think it's extremely hard to dislike anything with Su-metal's beautiful voice in it, so any song with her singing is going to be an upgrade. I got to see this performance live at FOX_FEST and it was fantastic. I wasn't previously a huge fan of the song, but the live experience really changed my view on it.

Wow. 2019 seems a long time ago now. Had this song on repeat for weeks before the album dropped. It was a grower for sure, but once it got in this song was the best thing I'd heard in years. Tool are my favourite band of all time, probably, but I thought the album was superb for the first half, but then started to meander towards the later.

I think they need to bring in an outside producer to rein them in a little. So many great ideas and moments on this entire album but also a lot of pretty obvious (at least to me) missteps and some very questionable structure and sound choices. This song is a perfect example of that, the beginning guitar stuff is great even when the distortion kicks in, but I saw your face change as soon as the vocals started and I swear I made that same face the first time I heard this song. The barking, almost unintelligible first few lines really ruin that verse(?) for me. They still have this waterfall of great ideas and inspiration, they just need focus. Still a lot to enjoy on this album though.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 "Brand New Day" is a good song to start your day refreshingly. I witnessed this artistic play at the venue (2 times in the two-day Fox_Fest). What a bliss!! Soothing and exquisite performance by 5 elegant figures in the center 😍. In addition, classy incorporation by our Kami Band on both sides❤. Various elements created by 3 beautiful performers and 6 instrumentalists (4 guitars in total + bass / drum) with virtuosity were mixed and sublimed into one beauty by means of something like alchemy. The actual applause at the end of the song was much much much bigger than that recorded in this video. They did it together again in Belgian festival on June 20.

Great reaction ... and you may not be alone in your thinking. Tim Henson and Scott LePage said they had more fun doing this song with BABYMETAL and watching the girls performance up close than they did playing their own set at Fox_Fest.🦊 The song itself is almost 5 years old - it was on BABYMETAL's 3rd album Metal Galaxy released in 2019. It is certainly one of BABYMETAL's more mellow songs ... but BABYMETAL can do everything. That's one reason their collaborations all work so well as they are so versatile they can do pretty much whatever style and match up with whoever they are collaborating with. Tim and Scott recorded the guitar tracks for the original recording of the song. Fox_Fest was the first chance they all had to meet up and to finally perform it live together. They did it again at GrasPop in Belgium.

Welcome back to the Foxhole and now going back to Metal Galaxy era.🦊🤘🌅 Metal Galaxy is a wonderful album and full of surprises, you're gonna find more songs like this with more mature sound, it came out in 2019 so isn't so new. The album version got the collaboration of Polyphia guitarists, Tim Henson (short hair on the right) and Scott LePage (long hair on the left), and it's quite clear in the solo section. Polyphia got a viral clip when they were performing live and having an issue with the drummer IEM not working and a roadie helped him out in an unorthodox way to save the show, very funny clip. Their songs are mainly instrumental but i think they got some collabs with famous singers but don't quote that on me, what is for sure they got mad skills playing instruments. Tim Henson said when listening to this song that he would love to play this along with BabyMetal on the stage, he didn't know the final cut when he was doing the riffs on this song. The dance on this song is beautiful and graceful, they're showing another mature side and more complicated choreography. According to MoaMetal is the hardest song to dance along with BxMxC and Night Night Burn iirc. Song is inspired by certain "city pop" band (city pop is a subgenre widely known in Japan) and Utada Hikaru songs, when SuMetal heard this she doubt about it being a metal song but then the guitars solo were added and all make senses suddenly. Finally we got them together on stage and with this awesome live performance, it is their first time performing together. They did it again at Graspop Festival in Belgium and they hug each other at the end just like in this version only thing it was cut out, there's also a proshot clip but I'm not so sure about the sound mix. They already finished the Europe Tour and they did it along with EC playing their collab song twice at Resurrection Fest in Spain. Along with RATATATA this was definitely one of the highlights at FOX_FEST and a lot of Japanese fans were looking for, I guess that cool slow pace city pop element gives some nostalgia and that's why many fans love it. In a recent interview, Tim and Scott talked about a new song in their upcoming album along with BM, let's see what they got but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be something real good like this one. In a more recent interview BM said that they would love to collab along with Fall Out Boy, can you imagine?👀 Next suggestion: - YAVA! with Kami Band intro live at Fox Festival 2017. They recently announced they will be at Knotfest Brazil for the first time in South America, The One is getting crazy with this news. Keep enjoying BM songs and see you next time 🦊🤘🔥

So happy you're getting into Ghost! \m/ Tobias excels at identifying out the elements of a band's particular sound and recreating it. He's done his homework with the classics, ingesting them and integrating them into his work, whether it's 60s, 70s, 80s or even 90s. He has embodied what bystanders back the thought rock music was (and actually wasn't). I think also perhaps Tobias realized there needed to be more ripping guitar solos and started bringing in the talent to give it the sauce. Somewhere in an interview he admitted he was good but not great.

This song actually is written on bass. And Henrik is right. Tobias writes solos that fits the song. Not to shine as a guitar player since he doesn't play guitar live anyway. Since you're from Brittain I can tell you a little funny story that just happened. Tobias had a sneak peak of the Ghost movie Rite Here Rite Now in Stockholm a couple of weeks ago. And invited for this VIP screening was Bruce Dickinson. The next day Bruce played at Gröna Lund in Stockholm. And there to watch the show was.... Tobias! They know each other since Ghost was the opening act for Iron Maiden a couple of years ago and still are good friends.

Musically, this album is ALL over the map of the rock landscape. I hear pop, rock, hard rock, metal, punk, punk country, jazz, classical, swing, fusion, dance, trance, and idunnowhutall. It's The Warning, and they play what they want to. My only complaint is that personally, I am not a fan of distorted vocals. As an occasional and rare special effect, I get it. But when half a song is distorted, it just sounds ignorant. Anton should know that. As for *Six Feet Deep,* it is a great video. I almost think the music and video are inseparable. It does not have the same effect on me when I hear the CD. Personally, I hope the MTV of the 1980s makes a come-back. The Warning have the perfect creative team and attitude to make content for it.

You want some major solo-age? Ritual. But yeah, Ghost has never really done a full on guitar solo, more so "instrumental breaks." I had never really noticed it until you mentioned it here and on the Patreon vid, but they are pretty short. To me though that is not a negative, it definitely adds to the song, but I won't sit here and say they shouldn't have longer solos. Off the top of my head I don't think they ever even reach 30 seconds besides for Ritual (which goes well past 30 seconds), maybe Year Zero?

I understand what you are saying about the guitar solos. But from what I understand, Tobias doesn't want a guitar solo to take over the song. It shall just fit. But if you want a Ghost song with a stunning guitar solo, listen to Twenties from the latest album. The solo is done by Fredrik Åkesson from Opeth. There is your solo you longing for! The song itself has divided the fans in two. Some love it, some hate it. I love the song. The inspiration for the song came from a music documentary for Swedish television where a Brasil rapper in the favela did a concert in the favela community that Tobias saw several years before he wrote it. The song is made in a 1920's style, about the 2020's but with the foundation in rap, but as a rock song. Stunning solo!

Great song, great collab, undoubtedly a terrific concert, but the editing of this video leaves much to be desired - visually, it's a train wreck: the whole video was chopped up into two- and three-second bits. It's as if they put the tapes of five or six different cameras into a blender and this was the result: it's an epileptic seizure just waiting to happen. And I have no idea who thought doing "fly-bys" is/was "artistic". 😢 🦊🤘
