"Heading Home" is taken from Time No Reason's 1996 "Watch & Listen" album.
I had found out about this band while searching for stuff that sound like Queensrÿche on CdBaby. Although Time No Reason doesn't sound anything like that, someone could trace some Geoff Tate undertones in the singer's delivery, especially in the song posted here. After all, someone could trace Japan's David Sylvian in Tate's low-to-mid range voice, right?
To my ears, though, Time No Reason are closer to Saviour Machine and the obscure greek-german band Into the Abyss.
This is their official biography text:
"Time No Reason emerged from the Akron, Ohio music scene just as Nirvana, Jane's Addiction and Nine Inch Nails were redefining the alternative rock landscape. Keyboardist, vocalists and composer Aaron Pillar and Bassist and EWI player Anthony Sterns provided the creative drive behind the band's material. Drawing on their progressive influences as well as the immerging grunge and alternative sound, Time No Reason achieved their distinctly recognizable sound. With strong reviews from their first release, The Clock Stops Here, front man Stephen Taylor joined the band. Taylor was the well know vocalist from regional late 80's favorite Joy Circuit. His vocals, powerful and dark, are reminiscent of David Bowie, Peter Murphy, and Ultravox's Midge Ure.
A favorite in the local club scene, Time No Reason began recording a second release but several personnel changes slowed the process down. A previous performance with Knoxville-based Church of Logic resulted in close contact between the two bands. When the nearly simultaneous split-up of both bands occurred, the availability of drummer Bill Gans and Guitarists Eric Bassett set the stage for a new line-up.
Teaming with producer Ben Schigel (later of the Switch), the band buckled down at Spider Studios to produce a new album. The result was 10 hard-hitting tracks with an edgy sound that Cleveland Scene's Lee Barrish observed was "heavily rooted in artistry. It's a strong disc-quite impressive." Two tracks received heavy airplay nationally with "Tension" being listed in the regional CMJ top 10-list and "Perceptions" making the BMI survey.
A distinctly different sound from the Live/Third Eye Blind/Matchbox 20 pop alternative sound that band would produce with singer Christopher O'Connell, Watch and Listen stands as a unique creative achievement with a distinct and complex sound"
P.S. This post's only purpose is to spread the band's name since there was no Time No Reason stuff on KZfaq. You can check out more samples from "Watch & Listen" and buy the album (like I did!) from: www.cdbaby.com/...

Hey Warlordy: "Stunned to see this up here" is my reaction. I was the keyboardist in this band. Not sure if you're saying you liked what you heard, but even if you didn't, thanks for pointing us out to the world at this late date. The Time No Reason effort was an optimistic push by a bunch of guys (and a girl at one point) in Ohio (20 years ago) to bring attention to the craft of songwriting and lyric writing - the craft of painting an "aural" picture, which for some is what music making is all about, and musicianship meant a lot to us. Unfortunately, we weren't really focused on the visual component of it all, and so along with other business challenges, this probably contributed to our demise. Never the less, we tried to insert skillful and interesting elements into our music, firstly because we enjoyed that kind of stuff, but also in the hopes that other people would enjoy it as well. The result? Well, I don't know. There's a lot in life that can't be controlled, but I think all participants thought quality work was being done, to the degree our resources allowed us to do, at the time. Anyway, thanks again!

Hey there! Is my english so bad that you can't make if I liked the band or not? Haha! Of course I like it, that's why I made the effort to upload the song and write all this text underneath. :)
