MISA turned her bass levels up when the sound man wasn't looking. 😂 She brings a lot of Funk and Jazz to her bass solos. One of the best young bassists out there - regardless of genre or gender.

I saw them in Japan in 2018..flew from Los Angeles just to see them. (I work for an airline, so airfare is cheap) Awesome. A couple months later, I flew back to see the Wagakki Band. You guys need to review them..they are even better than Band Maid

BAND-MAID are geniuses as combining hard-rock, metal, pop and jazz into their songs. They have said they purposely try to put as much into each song as they can so as not to make it just a series of repetitive sections crammed together. Simply put they are brilliant!!!

Great review! As someone who grew up on 70's, 80's & 90's Hard Rock, Metal & Grunge I have resigned myself that I will never be so lucky to experience the same feeling as when seeing Iron Maiden live in concert in 1983 or witnessing the next impactful band like Tool in a small club just on their 3rd gig touring their first album Opiate in 1991. But Band-Maid has been the one band that has done it. They are the one band that took me there. I had been fortunate enough to see them live last year in small club in LA when they did their 5 city mini tour. I would rank it up there with Tool and Maiden live. These Maidens are the real deal. Not only are they TOP NOTCH musicians but are damn good songwriters. I have fallen into the BAND-MAID rabbit hole and cannot see myself getting out. They have an extensive library of tunes which I have yet to encounter a bad song yet. If your looking to do some tracks then : Play (live), Moratorium (live), Puzzle, Real Existence, Alone, Dice, Blooming, Secret My Lips, Renne (Reincarnation), Take Me Higher are a few to get the ball rolling.

I refer to Band-Maid's genre as MGR = Multi Genre Rock. One reason why people can replay their songs over and over is because their compositions are rich, dense and complex... all in a good way with lots to discover. Not many bands do that or could even get away with that without sounding confusing and aimless. But because each of the Maids have different musical frames of reference and are such accomplished musicians, and Saiki is a unique sounding, fully rounded vocalist, they pull it off fantastically.

What sets them apart from even the great old classic rock bands is 1) classical training 2) a good feel for funk and jazz (which you were picking up on as "pop") and 3) there isn't just one star musician, but all five are outstanding.

This song does have a "anthem feel". So does "Endless Story" from the same album, which was written specifically to have the "anthem feel".

Exactly! It turned out in the end that it's another one of their anthems! Which nobody expected when they first presented this song last year in Europe. We were all confused 😆 Everybody thought, oh, it's another "start over" 🙄 Studio version has completely changed my impression of it, I thought it's one of the most fascinating songs in CONQUEROR. But when they have presented the live version at Line Cube Shibuya, my perception of it has been revolutionized once again! Actually, it's the same for "endless Story." I was not very much impressed with the MV (I think it's rather distracting), but the girls said in the interviews that the song is written for the arenas, and I really looked forward to seeing it performed at some stadium. Then I heard it in the Summer Sonic festival broadcast, and it was great! It's absolutely true, it's a great song for arenas! BAND-MAID always broadens my horizons 🤩 Just do what the Pigeon says, and no-one gets hurt 😁

That song is an SAIKI show (singer), her range is awesome! It´s kind of a ballad for sure, but by far not easy or "slow"... Nice reaction again, you both did really enjoy it that´s nice and the reason music is made for! Thanks to Band-Maid i really can enjoy music again. It´s really tough to say they are this kind of genre or this one, it´s rock, punk, ballads, even metal parts, funk... Next time Blooming or Onset maybe? Blooming MV is the newest song and very "heavy" and Onset LIVE is an pure instrumental and they are just showing off like crazy, your choice. Have a nice weekend!

Write those originals, absolutely, you guys would nail it, I completely believe in you. I revisited your reaction as I find this song is a complete masterpiece - really intricate instrumentation and absolutely beautiful - and love your guys knowledgeable appreciation. I don’t know if know a more beautiful song that rocks this hard at the same time. I read that when Kanami finished the music, she told the others she had created their first true masterpiece and I agree completely. Stellar! And then their performance- wow!! 🤩✌🏼

One of their best arranged songs. The lyrics also in this case are paramount for the music and composition. Hence the song's flow, breakdowns, etc. (a "fun" song? idk...haha, cheers): Lyrics: Unintentional words won’t do I demand a proper explanation Simplicity isn’t my cup of tea Allude to bewitch Let me believe Believe you believe you It’s always important Worn out and full of it, can’t cry at all This is how my voice leaked out Fades out into a dream I understand, I don’t understand I understand, I don’t understand Looping, passing each other It’s back to zero once again However, however There must be some way Trace the trail of the path we walked Unintentional words won’t do I demand a proper explanation Simplicity isn’t my cup of tea Allude to bewitch Let me believe Believe you believe you These ticklish memories aren’t bad Thus, at a blink of an eye It gets heavy, stuffed, faded But what happened on that day I haven’t forget about it even once It’s not like this, it’s not like that I kept wishing and wishing, but nothings comes true These emotions are even more colorful and stronger Ever so endearing and lovely Thinking what should I do? Turns out it was impossible Though it’s not an inevitable meeting My heart won’t be swayed by anything other I don’t like to listen to this sad song I want you to smile You just trust me Trust me trust me Keep up the pace, keep up the pace, farther away Till the day when the sky falls (I can’t go back to the past Nobody knows the future But I only know this You are my world) I exist to be myself There’s only one place I belong This place wouldn’t change for the better Since it would change into a shining world Taste the sweetness and sourness Ah, without waking up That is… Though it’s not an inevitable meeting My heart won’t be swayed by anything other I don’t like to listen to this sad song I want you to smile You just trust me Trust me trust me To the wonderland Forever Oh please God, listen to my wishes I don’t want anything else Other than to be by Your side always Be connected with You For many years Many years many years

So every so often, instead of watching a reaction to something that I grew up on, I get treated to new music and I’ve gotta say I am very impressed. I’m a child of the 60’s, so I’ve heard everything from all those eras and more. Music to me has been extremely boring over the last 20 years, but because, I believe, that the younger generations are beginning to listen to older music, a lot of it our music, their imagination’s are taking them and us back to new places 😁 creatively speaking. Awesomeness, I’m glad you two did this one, now I’ve got something new to listen to. 🙂

This is the first song you guys reacted to that was written by these girls themselves. The girls (mainly Kanami) wrote several songs when they were preparing for the Brand New MAID album (which includes the song Freedom) but almost all the songs were rejected by their record company. However the record company aid accept one song "Alone". After "Alone", the record company let the girls write and make their own music. You should try to react to "Alone", the MV version. Usually fans would recommend the live version of a Band-Maid song, but the MV version of Alone is just so good. You won't be disappointed.
