Casting unproblematically has pretty much become impossible. Like, if your cast is not diverse, it’s bad. If you give a role which was described as white in the source material or just coincidentally played by a white actor before, you get criticised. When you cast small people for the role of dwarfs or similar, you get criticised for reproducing stereotypes. When you don’t cast small people for those roles, you get criticised for robbing them of possible roles. Edit: I want to add here that on one hand these decisions are made by non-diverse groups of people (so marginalised people are not included in the decision-making) and the discussions always get extremely emotional

@@matttweed8961 That's AWESOME!! SO glad all enjoyed it so much, it's a truly "Feel Good" Movie and VERY "Family-Friendly"!! Another TERRIFIC one in the same vein, is "Journey to Bethlehem", about the True Story of Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus that was ALSO so well done, VERY beautiful and Inspiring and CERTAINLY "Family-Friendly", but unlike "Wonka, it just NEVER unfortunately got the Love and viewership it deserved! What a SHAME! That ALSO was a DEFINITE MUST see!! Try and catch it on DVD, or Streaming in the future if you can and of course I will ABSOLUTELY Own BOTH Movies!! Take care, Thanks kindly for sharing your wonderful experience with "Wonka" and Blessings to you and your Family!

IT IS NOT TIMOTHÉES FAULT. He is just paid to act as the character, he DOES NOT get to choose who he is acting with!

Blame Peter Dinklage for this, since he was the one that made s big stink about hiring little people SnowWhite. Another reason why cancel culture is the blight of our world.

Anybody involved in the project shows they really only think about money and lack key elements that make someone a "good person" such as morals, integrity, and respect. You can tell the kid is very self adsorbed and full of himself just based off the ridiculous stuff he wears to get attention anyway.
@cassu6 Жыл бұрын
I agree with the first half of your comment, whilst the second half just seems like jealousy.
@Amber86queenbee Жыл бұрын
How is this lacking morals? Are you taking this based off an original actor’s views rather than the author nor the author’s estate - no one else besides the latter have moral authority over the work being produced.
@antonduhgr8835 Жыл бұрын
@@Amber86queenbee The project went into work days after the man who originally did the movie passed away because that man didn't want the project to happen...the kid would be portraying that role. Horrible taste.
