Hy There,
In this video i will unbox, clean, review and make some first chips with my new bench lathe i buy, it?s bernardo profi 600g with lot of equipement.
I didn't use lathe a lot, but i'm deffinitely impressed by it's power, it's defiinitely a big update from a 300mm minilathe i got so far, because turning steel and inox is piece of cake for that lathe.
Bernardo got really wide range of tools for woodworking, metalworking and lot more, from smallest to biggest version.

Hi there, I bought the same lathe almost 1 year ago. Recently I mounted a DRO, but wasn't sure how to mount it on the lathe. I searched on the KZfaq channel for more information, but there was nothing to find with the same machine ! Until now ! Thanks for sharing this info . By the way, my lathe is from HBM from the Netherlands but the only difference it is the product name ! have fun and stay safe; greetings Ronn from Belgium;

Very nice presentation of what looks like a nice lathe, I have a smaller version, the HBM 250G which is slightly smaller at 250x500, I've had it about 6 years with only 1 slight problem, the lever used to set automatic cross/length feed was loose from new and will not stay tight for long, a minor hitch that can easily be fixed. I went with the geared version as the variable speed one was having lots of problems with the variable motor and control when they first came out, never regretted the choice so far other than maybe a slightly bigger one but they were not available at the time. I'm sure you will find the difference with the upgrade, hope you enjoy it.

Thanks, and yes i am still satisfied with a lathe, werry happy specially when i work on steel because its so robust it can make a big steel chips, and making any thread is so satisfied due to leadscrew transmission wich cover all the pitches... Only weak point so far is seals, oil leak out of lathe on alnpst every axel(for transmission) and every hole even blind cup, so i take out the oil, and replace the o-rings, some parts i turn a bit to get in bigger o ring, and use a liquid seal to reseal the cups, the lathe is now dry for more than half a year before that mod every day few drops of oil was on the pan, i really dont understant such a good lathe, good brand but then they use shitty cheap o-rings to seal, it was visibly by naked eye how shitty o-rings was wich was even not round, had exess from molding... There is some dirty work, not simpliest job but i coudnt wach my new lathe was oily every day. I had many more improve in mind but waiting to realise. Also buy new qctp 250-111 wich is my favorite, i try with 250-222 but it was way too big, original one was shitty, so don't buy them, check for 250-111 on ebay.

If you take off the leadscrew cover, you will likely see a keyway the length of the leadscrew. There will be a gear that rides on the leadscrew, in the apron, that powers the power feed. Sure looks like a great little lathe.

This looks actually big better than I anticipated. I wasn't expecting to see ie. Schneider contractors and that safety door switch, seem to be the ones are used in my work in quite expensive equipment and are robust. Looks like I'll be watching into that Bernardo option again 👍

@@TinC33 Yes. I follow one local hobbyist group and I do recall someone asking how Bernardo quality is and some, apparently very adept hobbyist commented that Bernardo and Optimum are virtually on par with each other when comparing spec wise similar equipment. I only experience from one bigger metal bandsaw that is Optimum and albeit being very different thing, it shipped very "ready" to be used. I mean all the angles etc. where as good as they virtually can be. Made few test cuts with it and essentially deemed it ready to use.
