VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
Meet Steph, an adventurous woman with a nomadic soul and a spirit that thrives on being outside. She traveled with everything she needed on her back before van life, so moving into a tiny home was luxurious! There was a conversation with a friend about living in a van, and two weeks later, she had a van, and two weeks later, she was on the road!
The van she purchased has a nice layout with everything needed to fulfill her love of exploring. There's a garage she's packed full with a bike, two snowboards, a paddleboard, a yoga mat, and climbing gear. The 4-season tires on this rig are suitable for all terrains and give Steph the free range to hit the mountains, battle mud, and boondock in the most remote locations. This girl knows how to maximize tiny home living, and we love it!

AT LAST! A van that isn’t 70% kitchen. But I hate cooking and love showering so just my opinion. Also that’s the first folding bed I’ve seen that looks really easy to use. Fab!

I think this is one of the most spacious designs I've seen. Love the shower. Though I think if I replicated this design for a van of my own, I'd probably try to sneak in a toilet where the bike and outdoor gear is stored. This is an extremely well designed and cozy van. Though I think you are one of the first solo van lifers that I've seen that doesn't have a pet. Kudos to you, even though I don't think I could live solo without a pet or two. This is the first time I have seen a bed setup like that, cool! There is a little toaster thing that you can put on top of the stove to toast bread. Applaud on the backup camera!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

I really liked this video. And she has a real shower in it as well. The storage is great and she has a full closet. I liked the bed and toilet. Plus her insulation to block people from knowing that she is in it is great. For solo living as a woman the Sprinter van is great.

The camera lens makes the van look bigger than what it is. Its small. She's doing great making it work with all that storage. There are extended vans that give a foot more room which is what I'm looking for. I don't think I'd be happy living so tiny, but a longer van or skoolie would be ideal for tiny living.

@@Hard_Car_Life everybody's different in this regard. I don't get any cabin fever in my 14 foot tiny house that I've been living in for years now. I've got a kitchen, a wet bath, tablespace to use for dining or office work, and a rocket mass heater (splurged for a reinforced chassis and 14,000 pounds of axles and tires with otherwise light construction) in the form of a Chinese kang bed and a futon to lay on it at night. What more do I need lol

This build shares top billing with the only other van with the bed up front that I have run across in over two years. If you don't have a skoolie, you really can't have four people in there at the same time. Very kool design and use of space !! The up front bed with one or two swivels and/or that single seat ottoman..... make for a nicer cozy gathering place

Depends on how close the people are and if they're clostrophobic. As a 5'9 woman if I'm sleeping alone I only need 72x30X30 inches of sleeping space, with a partner more like 78x54x30 You can stack more sleeping space than you think so long as people get along well and can handle relatively small spaces. Of course, packing this tight is mostly a camping or travel thing. Trying to share one van with four adults (unless they were like... A really healthy poly relationship or something) would definitely get old eventually lol. Not because of sleeping space but rather living space. Then again families in Hong Kong make that sort of space stacking work long term....

I love this design! I’ve lived in two studio apartments where my sectional was my bed so this looks perfect. I don’t need a bed that takes up valuable space and sits there all day doing nothing.

@@fetbeby4579 in the kitchen cabinet except when in use. Looks like the camping bag model, possibly the kind that autoseals the bags. It's not ideal, but in this sort of space everything is a compromise one way or another lol

Again an inspirational vlog. Steph is an independent young woman who has maximized tiny space and has as far as I can tell a limited carbon footprint. On top of that she has a good diet! I think on top of being an advocate for better mental health she shows everyone that by adapting to smaller spaces, the dividend is more time outside. I really liked how she has made the van her home and customized/improvised to her needs. Thanks again to Tiny Home Tours and Steph.

I would have changed the stove to an electric induction stove. With enough solar panels it should not be a problem. And a diesel heater - no propane anywhere.

I am a woman, alone in my van. I have been looking for an awning and was wondering about your thoughts about your awning. You said you could take it out part way? Is it electric? Does it drain the water well in rain? Does it hold well in wind? Do you like it? Your looks short in length; would one fit over your back doors? I appreciate your input particularly since you use your van as a part of your outdoor life. Thanks.

I don't think she's seeing these comments. Going to pitch in with a suggestion: Try experimenting with a tarp & bungees. This would give you a lot of flexibility (tarp size, angle you pitch at - & how these options give privacy/protection from weather, etc). Ultimately if you then decide to get an awning, you will have a good idea of what size & functions work best for you.

I would be interested in knowing how you get wifi in Canada to be able to work full-time as a digital nomad. It seems like a bottleneck here in Canada to be able to work remotely on the road if you need dedicated internet.

That bed is called a jackknife. I have seen them in sofas, but never in a bed set up in a van like this. Did she make this, or hopefully, did she buy this somewhere? If yes, could information be provided where she purchased the jackknife? My son is getting his degree in forestry, and I really want to renovate a van into a camper to visit him while he is doing his internships. This kind of bed set up would be absolutely perfect!

Nicely done but why not put the toilet in the shower area then you can also have privacy plus free up space in the cabinets. Just seems like there is plenty of space to put the toilet in the shower area. Then just move the toilet if you need too... With the curtain across the shower the toilet and the other things would be out of sight. give a real bathroom feeling to the area. Just a thought but maybe your way works better for you... I do love the van.
