Gahhhh I wish I could have seen this before the trip on Sunday. Left a lot of money down at the bottom of the ocean because I kept getting snagged on the rocks. This video will definitely save me for the next time. It was great talking to you about training Sir. I really should get back into it.

Old vid but still great info. The trick on rigging the swimbait is priceless. I have nothing close to me to buy tackle but next month I'm going to be down in the big city {fresno} a lot and they have a good store to get supplies!

Imho, ball weights are far less prone to getting caught than torpedo or banana, triangle, flat or any others. When they do get caught, you can get far more of them out too. I like em.

Lots of good info but if you told him you have a 40lb braid on the reel and the rigs he gave you do have 50lb test if you get snagged what’s gonna break first? I would say you need to run maybe a 30lb test at the end so you don’t loose all your braid. Other than that everything else he said was spot on
@bobbypatton4903
@bobbypatton4903 2 жыл бұрын
No matter what line you are using it will always break at the knot because knots reduce the strength of a line. If your line breaks mid-way and not at the knot it's because the line had a fray or something.

@@bobbypatton4903 I disagree. If you use heavier leader than your main and your knot is stronger than the main and main is brand new like mine at the moment then I can loose half my spool main braid.

Great information for new fisherman. However you can just poke the bait and not split it. No need to splinter when you can just prick a small mark you can see.

Im still confused about what side of the boat to be on. Dropper loop rig wind to face swimbaits wind to your back? I thought usually swimbaits u use the front of the boat?
@DanhNguyenster64

Also fyi those pline rigs come with not so good hooks. Buy the shrimp flies with good hooks and tie your own dropper loop.

BADBASSBROSTV my guess is going to be around 60-70$ depending on what the store was selling those weights for. If the store had cheaper prices I’d say around 50, if the store was more expensive I’d go more towards that’s 70$ range

You got ripped off with the swim baits. Big hammers are usually a dollar and 50 cents maybe 2 each. You got 2 for $9.30 bruh
