I'm always curious how folks do their blends! I'm a folder because I hate having to squish the rolled up log into the plug shape... I trap so much air and then spend eternity poking bubbles later. I don't find my blends wandering in size too much but I fix it the same way you do :) Poke the edges!

I like the rolling method...but it's hard not to trap bubbles. I work on a much smaller scale (most of the time) than you do with your large canes. So, it makes sense that they wouldn't get way to wide for you, like they do for me. Thanks for watching 😊 ❤️

Hey, Melly- . Your pastel "plugs" looked like candy, When I need to shrink my blend, I fold instead of roll. I find it easier to avoid bubbles that way. Just a tip from Wendy from Detroit Ok, going to watch the skinner Sutton Slice vid, I am always looking for a better way!!

Thanks! And thanks for the tip! Yes, folding has less bubbles, but rolling is faster. Just either way. Of course, after getting out all those stupid bubbles...It might not have been faster! 😂 Thanks for watching 😘

Thank you Melly for your great tips! 😃 I have a question... can you change the roller thickness while the motor is running?

I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! That is a very good question & one that I asked when I first started. It made sense to me to turn it when changing the thickness because it seemed to me that it would be hard on the gears. I asked in one of the clay groups & sure enough, most people said that it would strip or damage the gears. It would be such a time saver if we didn't have to turn it on & off, wouldn't it? That's why a lot of people use a foot petal to control the power. That also frees up your hand because you don't have to let go of something to turn it on & off...just use your foot instead! The pedals aren't expensive...I just haven't gotten around to buying one yet. Thanks for watching & supporting my channel ❤

Where did you get your pasta machine?

Hi 👋 I was actually lucky enough to buy mine used from another polymer clay KZfaqr who wasn't doing clay anymore. These types of pasta machines are modified specifically for working with polymer clay & the colors are custom ordered. I highly recommend them. Here's where you can find them 😄 www.edscolors.com/
