Tips for learning the HARDEST part of WSET L2 in Wines, Part 1: White Wine Appellations

Dear Wine People,
As someone who went through WSET courses himself and also from the point of view of an educator watching his students go through the course and exam, this part of WSET Level 2 in Wines-remembering the appellations-seems to be where everyone struggles.
In this video, I'll share some tips and techniques I used for mastering this part of the material. We'll be focusing first on white wine appellations, with the next video covering red wine.
And as always, back by popular demand: 30 challenging WSET exam-type questions to help you master this part of the course!!

@@thirstyandwise What a Life savor!! Can't wait! I have read the book twice and watched all the video and quizzes on the WSET pre study but The overwhelming and perplexing nature of the "EU/world of wines" outside of the US is quite hard to understand. Finding your videos have been a real blessing, not only because I now know how to say Viognier and Auslese semi correctly and not sound like some CA surf guy saying VI OG NAY or OSH LEECE haha....I'm 57 and a lover of wine but I'm ashamed to say NEVER delved into much past the Napa world....And look forward to learning more and more and seeing how far this road takes me...sorry for the long response but again Thank you!

Thank you for your question. My recommendation is for you to create your own. Combination of watching videos, reading the material and creating own study material is the learning process that guaranties success.

Is it adviced yo take a level 2 if you dont know anything about wine ,meaning taking a online course study for your self and take a test

Very good question. I did my WSET L2 in Wines online, I did not do L1. I had some wine knowledge. I passed because I was interested and prepared well. great stuff i have a question on chardonnay .appellations and regions is casabblanca a region or an appellation?

Good question. Region and appealtion can be used interchangeably. Region is usually a larger geographic area, where when you say appellations usually means smaller are within a region. Hope this answers your question. Stay Thirsty and Wise
