What's going on guys? This is VinylicPuma, back with another Borderlands 3 Tips video and today, I figured I'd give you guys some of my Tips for Making Borderlands 3's Mayhem Mode Level 3 in True Vault Hunter Mode Easier! In this video, I go over gear, strategies and general tips as well!

There's this one skin that turns your character entirey white except for a huge bloodstain coming out from your lower jaw. Pair it with the Marcus head for the most cursed character.

At least its an early game drop, and not a legendary end-game boss drop. Farming the Warrior and continually getting the Jack mask as your legendary drop, again and again, was infuriating.

When me and my little sister were playing, we both got the Marcus bobble head I turned to her and said, "you know what to do." And we both ran to the customization station and equiped it. Poor Bandits the last thing they see is that scary ass bobble head.

Put off mayhem travel... Travel back use it again.. It reset the debuffs so they may be something. On your liking

I like how you spent the time to put thought into a video that doesn't just jump on a hot topic for quick clicks, but is actually full of *helpful advice*. Thanks for the effort, I'm subscribed, now, and look forward to more tactical tips and advice. I'd love to see some videos on "Starting X character" type builds and tactics, early game stuff. Most people are posting builds at level 50, but not really talking about general synergies early on and how to survive long enough to unlock mid-tier and later-tier abilities. Just a thought.

Hey Puma, would it be easier to call Mayhem on True Vault Hunter mode True Mayhem? Like: True Mayhem 1 True Mayhem 2 True Mayhem 3 That way normal mode is just Mayhem and if an Ultimate mode comes about it can be Ultimate Mayhem.

This is why the idea for random modifiers in any game is just plain dumb. I think increased difficulty resulting in increased rewards is a great idea. Please tell me what gamers were excited to see random changes to a game they’ve played for hundreds of hours.....building a character with certain skills and specific weapons, only to have a random change completely uproot all the work you’ve done? Its lame and dumb. It creates situations often where either all enemies are bullet sponges, or everything dies being shot once or twice. How is either fun? -50% bullet damage? In a Borderlands game? Fuck you. Or AT LEAST make it a system where certain areas of the game make enemies less susceptible to certain elemental weapons, and these buffs/de-buffs become more exaggerated in Mayhem Mode. Just something, ANYTHING consistent would be nice. Can’t believe this made it out of play testing. This must have been added after, because its so bad, and just makes the game less fun to play regardless of whether the random variations make you really weak or OP.

Balanced? No. Fair? Pretty subjective. Its super easy, and you get god buffed even when you get huge debuffs. Its just not enough to stop you. Also considering how you can reroll the area buffs and debuffs. Thats considering your not playing with any friends. I maxed out my bank with legendaries and now just toss the ones i dont feel like hording on me. Its funny seeing u and ur friends just tossing legendaries.

Man, nice to hear about the radiation, i Just finished the story and only now im watching some videos. I came across a radiation shotgun at lvl 23 and experimented It like every gun i grabbed i tested It out, after this shotgun i got a legendary shield with 100% rad protection , later on i got a Green piece that increased my radiation dmg and the cloud effect dmg, after that i reinspect my amara build to Max elemental dmg that i could, voila.... Carried thru the whole story up to lvl 37 with radiation!! Things like this , that you Discover by yourself is what makes me enjoy BL3 so much!!! Glad i noticed rad is the best element in the game!!!:)

My first head change was to the bobble head Marcus 😂 also for me mayhem was a lot easier as the siren with her close quarters based perks, add a decent shotgun and smg plus 2 guns that you are comfortable with and all should be fairly ok, just always be on the move and make use of the slide to get in close with the shotty 👍🏻

great video! you just gained a sub! would love to see more about tips for best legendaries because... i am playing on pc so i increased the drop rate, and i am swimming in guns and am absolutely overwhelmed. been trying to experiment but it really seems like there are a lot of good weapons in this gme

I just look up skill builds which leads up to giving me ideas of how I want my playstyle to be like, respec my skills, and then boss farm for legendaries. Don't be hesitant to lower down your difficulty if things get too hard. You will know when you feel stronger to reach harder modes as you gain more experience and get stronger gear. Keep in mind the ultimate choice is really up to you on how you want to play the game. Now continue to have fun causing more mayhem Vault Hunters.

Really great advice. I'd also add - when possible, work to match your weapon's elemental damage to the enemy you are targeting. In normal game, you can be lazy about this, but not as much in Mayhem mode.

So true. I very rarely use shock weapons though. They are weak to flesh enemies. In mayhem 3 I use an atlas rifle that has 800+x3 and shields are no match

Since assault riffle sniper riffle are always effected together and as are pistol smg shotgun Consider having a pistol, an smg, and a shotgun, for each of the 3 main, elements. Feel free to swap corrosive for cryo or shock for radiation if it fits. And one of choice for non elemental. Also consider for assault riffle sniper, the duel element combo of radiation and cryo. Both work fine on flesh, radiation is buffed vs shields and cryo vs armor. Also a non elemental version of both. 8-10 weapons to fit all combinations of buffs and de buffs for weapon types and elemental vs non elemental so you can always switch to a load out that is universally buffed.

Mayham 3 tip: Always have- normal and element AR Always have normal and elemental SMG or Shotgun or pistol. And make sure you don’t get BS modifiers. If you do. You can fast travel or save& quit to refresh the modifiers

have been playing mayhem 3 after starting tvhm for my second playthrough and did not realize it was changing, thought it was everything listed on the console @ sanctuary. read it all and was like... so it all just cancels out? what is this? then i realized from this video and a couple hours ago that is a list of all possible buffs and debuffs not the ones applied hahah

The only BS modifier is 30% change to reflect bullets tbh Everything else you can work around with carrying alternative guns. Save and quitting until you get good modifiers may actually take longer than just dealing with it by carrying many weapons :)

I put mayhem 3 on and my experience was fighting 5 badasses zealots and 3-5 annointeds in place of normal enemies. Needless to say second winds were basically impossible. Especially in the slaughter shaft were there was no escape from the annointeds

Get plenty of weapon types/elements, match elements, and play your build. its uvhm with adjustments to your loadout based on buffs and debuffs

WIth Gearbox really pushing for build variety & varying gear choices for Mayhem/TVHM,they really should ad a loadout that we can change on the fly. Give us at least 3 to 5 and we can change on the fly for gear & for skills at the character station.

Radiation seems to be the greatest element in my opinion, as it's relatively effective against flesh, shields, and armor without getting its elemental damage negated

I opened a golden chest finally cause my Flakk character is at lvl 50 and I was trying to get really good purple weapons cause I’m not having good luck with legendaries. I got a Transformer shield off my first first and couldn’t believe it.

Let me add, it's not necessary for your weapons to be 550 or above in Mayhem 3. I have plenty of weapons with me, and most are under 550. And I have 7 weapons that are basically my go-to weapons which I used more than the other, or I always have at least one of them available to switch to quickly if I need to, and all of them except one, which is 551, is below 550, and I have killed many anointed with all of them pretty quickly. Before looking that much at score, I would recommend looking at it's stats and functions, and figure out if it will go well with your skills, class mod(s) and artifact(s)

Hey @VinylicPumaGaming! What's the highest item score you've found? The highest I've found was a purple rarity Maliwan anointed sniper that had a score of 620. I was gonna keep it but instead gave it to a friend that I recently had a fight with as a peace offering 🤣

I'm just a click away from true vault hunter mode ( beat tyreen and looted lilliths room ) and am level 49 but I've noticed that cryo is King. It absolutely melts but sadly enemy weaknesses aren't near as effective. This JUST on mayhem 1... Definitely feels more difficult though and it makes the side quests jump up to my level which is nice. Does your level matter when going into TVHM?

my tip to make mayhem 3 on TVHM easier than easy mode: step 1. start your game on mayhem 3 and load into a zone step 2. look at your modifiers and see if any can be useful step 3. if you don't like them, quit to the main menu and enter back in, this will re roll your modifiers doing this you can get nothing but benefits to various damage types you can deal and there are many types: 50% damage buffs to various types of gun (followed with a -50% debuff) 45% normal bullet damage(with 45% more elemental damage taken), 70% elemental bullet damage (-70% normal bullet damage) and 35% gun damage (with -50% action skill and nade damage). I once got all of these at once and enemies were just MELTING when I used my elemental SMG or shotgun!

M3TVHM was pretty easy. Blew past it without getting knocked down. Tip have a Flacker for those pesky anointed. You can take on the whole group of em with ease

I have a lvl 19 blue fire shotgun "Hostile Essential Host" that does 216 fire element damage. Shoots out fire balls that bounce. Hope I can find a lvl 50 one.

I've read it's not available till after you beat TVHM. Then you have the option to choose some type of mayhem mode

I was kinda disappointed how low your bar is for helpful tips. Some of them are on the same level like "if you wanna hit an enemy, turn on your monitor!". But to your fair point, Borderlands 3 is way to easy and if you need to understand to look for synergy between weapons and skill tree to play mayhem 3, this guide is perfect for you. But geez that's some tips for people who rarely play games imo :S Still nice vid and thanks for your content!

Do you have to play in MM 1 and 2 before 3 or can I just skip the first 2? Also, are weapons acquired in MM3 better than regular lvl 50 weapons? I'm currently lvl 45, just planning ahead.

From what I've seen in other videos to make mayhem 3 easier less deaths on your end, you should gear up for it through 1 and 2, while in 2 try to get as much if not a full set of anointed gear

Ran into two anointed militants that just sat there and spammed the underfoot lava pool, as soon as i touched the ground i lost about half my shield, it can tick multiple times a second and they're immune to most dammage while doing it ... that was almost as boring to deal with than the first ever vault boss.
