UnBoxed Films presents, TK-436: A Stormtrooper Story, the gritty tale of a loyal Imperial Stormtrooper who is forced to confront his past in the heat of an epic battle. Directors Samtubia & Samgoma Edwards imagined it from a perspective that is seldom explored within the Star Wars universe.
Winner of the 2016 Filmmaker Select Award at Star Wars Celebration Europe. It was chosen by a panel of judges that included Rouge One: A Star Wars Story's director Gareth Edwards, executive producer John Knoll of Industrial Light & Magic, and co-producer John Swartz.

FUN FACTS ABOUT TK-436: A Stormtrooper Story
1.) All of the Stormtrooper costumes were made using EVA foam, athletic mats, and pepakura patterns.
2.) The stormtrooper costumes were purposely made to look bulky and damaged in order to give the stormtroopers a more intimidating appearance.
3.) The short film took approximately 7 months to complete.
4.) In the film TK-436 supposedly has a beta model Helmet, complete with functional cheek filters (inspired by the First Order helmets) and advanced HUD capabilities.

@Han Lockhart What TK-436 is implying is that he forgives his love interest for joining the Rebels. For him, he truly has faith in the Empire, and he believes in the promise of peace and stability that the Empire at least claims to be founded on. He fundamentally believes that the ends *can* justify the means. So, he can't or, at least on some level, refuses to understand why people would be so incensed by Imperial rule that they would resort to picking up arms against the state. However, as I previously stated, he cares enough about the woman in the video that he can forgive her for joining the Rebellion that, from his perspective, is in the wrong. In fact, he ironically uses her betrayal and subsequent death to reaffirm his faith in the Empire.
@Tsanschy
@Tsanschy 4 жыл бұрын
@@self-satisfiedsmirk5544 While she, in maybe believing he was killed by rebels, saw it as motivation in joining the rebel movement, to kill those her dead luv would have called brothers in arms and doing her part to bring death, terror and chaos upon the galaxy. In his view it is more frustrating; "I thought you are my dreamgirl for all eternity, and now I found you here, cucking me for some terrorists." He had faith in something bigger than anything else. She had no faith at all.

Ummmm those are some pretty strong feelings. Correct me if I'm wrong but not only did the Disney SW movies make money but were actually well reviewed and made, Rogue One is probably the second best SW movie ever made after Empire, and all 4 of the current Disney movies are far and away better than Phantom, Clones and Revenge which also made a boat load of money and we're not very good. Have you read the synopsis of what Lucas wanted for the next trilogy? Can the films be better? Maybe, they need a better stand alone identity, rather than ride the coat tails of the original trilogy, but they are not that bad especially considering the 2nd trilogy and the bullet we dodged that would have been Lucas' next trilogy. Lucas had moments, but by far he is not a great writer ( Vader and Padme romance is inexplicably horrible and completely unbelievable) nor is he a great director (the best SW movie, Empire, was not directed by Lucas)...you all just need to calm down

Excuse me for asking, but what kind of drugs have you been taking? The only new movie, that I can watch is Rogue one, but its miles away from being better than rots, anh and rotj. Tlj and tfa are just so bad, that they should remove them from canon. But solo is semi-decent just because of darth mauls little appearance. Precedent: the American Civil War saw many instances of relatives on either side of the conflict killing each other. Brothers, cousins, Fathers and sons faced each other in that war. It's not about propaganda, it's about context, for more developed worlds the empire was true good, the fact it was ruled by a Sith was irrelevant or maybe even a positive overall, it was mostly the underdeveloped worlds that relied on criminal activity that saw empire as a force of evil, you could make a political argument that the empire's bureaucracy limited freedom too much, on the other hand the republic limited freedom too little (aka lack of persecuting crime), still to the normal, law abiding citizen living on a world that didn't rely on business from criminals, empire would be net positive

honestly i think that the rebel alliance is not really that much better morally than the empire, i mean there's obviously black and white moral differences for their leaders but i don't think that storm troopers are bad people, what the movies fail to do is show the true nature of war, not just a watered down black and white story, which is why i kinda enjoyed this more than most of the movies.

Very good movie! What is most impressive is that it did not follow the tired trope of the brother blaming the Empire for killing his sister and joining the Rebels to fight the Empire he suddenly saw as evil. I wonder if Hollywood would ever have the balls to make this kind of Star Wars movie...

Unbelieviable. This is for sure, the worst time to be a Star Wars fan, with all this hate with 4 of the 7 movies, sometimes even 5 of 7, and it will get worst and worst as the new movies will be launch. Nostalgic fans who can't love all the saga, (and I'm talking about love all the episodes besides their mistakes, since even the classic trilogy has a lot of them) please, make us a favor: go watch and rewatch the original trilogy on VHS and stop spreading meaningless hate.

I have never felt so utterly crushed and saddened by any other bitter ending than this. Truly a beautiful work and a great service to the Star Wars community upon the part of all those who contributed to this films making - something I wouldn’t say of Disney’s work with Star Wars with their substantial budget yielding a meager plot line and detached characters.

For the ones that had not read the many star wars books available, the empire troops were convinced that they were the good guys, but the empire was enslaving all the non human species, and keeping that secret, this story touches me in the way that, in the real world, there were (and are) so many soldiers fighting for the wrong cause, but convinced otherwise, and yes, they are doing it for their loved ones, great to see another film about the stormtrooper point of view.

It's always so surreal to see a stormtrooper take off their helmet. The armor does such a good job at turning the soldiers into a faceless mass, that it almost seems impossible for any of them to have a face underneath.

I was hoping that he would rethink his role for the Empire and eventually leave it to become a rebel for the girl he loved, but even thought it didn't happened, it was a pretty good final that shows how Stormtroopers will remain loyal to their cause and the Empire.
@Erikaaaaaaaaaaaaa
@Erikaaaaaaaaaaaaa 7 жыл бұрын
I'm glad he remained loyal. Filmmakers and authors always seem to forget that patriotism is a thing. Even during the height of Joseph Stalin's madness, the Red Army still remained unwaveringly loyal. In the core worlds of the Empire, the Empire controls the media. To the people of the Empire, the Rebels are the same breed as ISIS or Al-Qaeda. This is the story of the Empire. Even though their leader was a lunatic, even though many people they loved may have defected, they still fought for the Empire. Not for Palpatine, not for Tarkin, but for the country they grew up in against what they viewed as a terrorist organization. If your girlfriend went off to join ISIS, you would still love her, but I doubt you would run off and join ISIS as well, especially if you were a veteran who had lost friends in the War on Terror.

NoobDeGuerra Sigh, ignorant kids...First of all, your grammar sucks. No, the American soldier didn't fight to bring "order." America was never the aggressor in WWII. It wasn't until Pearl Harbor that American opinion was swayed enough to support entering the war. We were fighting to prevent our country from being attacked again and to defend our allies. Finally, did you ever think just how many people would have died if the US was forced to invade Japan with ground troops? A heck of a lot more than the 129K that died at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Look up Operation Downfall. We are lucky that Japan decided to surrender. A ground invasion of Japan would have been a bloodbath. It's also well known that the Empire was modeled after Nazi Germany. Why does anyone even need to tell you that? It is incredibly obvious.

I don't think she betrayed him. She thinks, the Empire has taken the love of her live from her. Therefore, she hates the Empire and joins the Rebels. She did not want to fight him, she wants to fight the people that have taken him away from her. That's not betrayal, that's love.
