To stretch natural hair without causing damage to the strands, I use stretch panels

A safe way to stretch out natural hair that has been heat damaged without causing further damage to the strands is by setting your hair in plaits or in this case I used CWKgirls SSS plates (stretch plates) followed by sitting under a hooded dryer to dry. Only the braided roots were blow dried on low gentle heat. cr@tresses_dee#stretchedhair #stretchplate #naturalhairtipsandtricks #heatdamagehair #durhamncsalon #naturalhair #straighthair #fyb #foryoupage

I was around when the creator of these CWK Straight Plates first brought her idea to a hair forum I was a part of. It was back in 2013/2014. She started a kickstarter to fund it. I don't think it ever really took off. I heard some women got theirs but most didn't. I think she was having manufacturing issues or something. The ones in the video look like they are from a relaunch because the original ones didn't look like this.

Yess totally agree. Though my hair is short I still find a way to do some type of heat-less method as far as stretching with rubber bands, but they tend to break my hair off so I was stuck air drying and I’d have to detangle right after especially if my hair isn’t moisturized at the time or sometimes I let it air dry without the rubber bands and then my hair would shrivel and get all matted smh. They definitely need this product in the stores 😅

I have locs now (6 years), but I wish I'd discovered these years ago, when I was still wearing loose natural hair.

It's so refreshing seeing beautiful natural grown afro hair being styled in videos ...and not video of weeve being sewn in or however they do it..This video give me sweet 60's and 70's,80's vibes when young BLK women grew our own hair.. only a few of the older women wore wigs. cause even the older sisters came out them hair pressing, finger waving beauty shops rocking beautiful hairstyles!

Finally, a hair stylist that knows how to stretch hair heatless! I've seen people do it at home, but you are the first stylist I've seen doing it. But I've never seen with these boards before. It was using a type of braiding method.

Stretch panels, waveformers, jumbo rollers, african threading, and banding are all great heatless stretching methods. Tight braiding is sufficient for loose curls, but the methods above are better for tighter curls

For me I would. My hair is thicker and I don’t have the time to just let it completely air dry. For me I would do a low heat air dry until it’s hairy dry, then let it finish naturally

Im kinda on the fence about this but it's very cool. I still twist and air dry my daughter hair and my mom. Been doing it for 34 yrs and it's worked enough for me. Idk.. but like I said this is a cool lil gadget. Would love to give it a try
