Tobin and Christen kickoff their inaugural episode of The Re-Cap Show with a preview of the upcoming World Cup and USA’s match against Vietnam, a debate over which is easier: starting or coming off the bench, and answering questions from the community like, “How do you stay positive during a recovery period,” and “What is your go-to karaoke song?” Then, they sit down for an in-depth conversation with their iconic head coach, Jill Ellis, covering her first days with the USWNT, her history coaching Christen and Tobin, her unique role during the lawsuit against US Soccer for pay equity in 2019, and much more.

Agreed. And you probably want Press as a consultant/assistant because she has such complementary warmth and empathy, kindness. I'm watching these pod casts in reverse order, finally hitting episode 1 a month after the world cup. It is interesting that Heath highlighted the imbalance on the front line before they played a WC game. (Of course the problem was there to see in the warm-up games too.) This is all the more interesting because Heath explicitly said she loves Sophia Smith's style, yet she still acknowledged the two inverted wingers would limit Morgan's effectiveness. Smith and Rodman just liked to dribble too much. (Heath probably did early in her career too.) Morgan scored a goal that was called back for offside. If Rodman had released the ball on her first touch the goal would have stood. Press would have made that one-touch pass. Hope she recovers from her surgery soon! My heart goes out to her.

It went the opposite of what I expected, too. Christen came of the bench for most of her career with the USWNT while Tobin was almost always a starter. I assumed they would think their roles would be more difficult, but both thought the other role was harder.

I can't emphasize enough how refreshing it is to have the opportunity to listen to articulate players sharing their first-hand experiences. Unlike scripted content, this show brings us genuine conversations that feel incredibly convincing and engaging. Although some might worry about the show's length potentially boring the audience, I find myself thoroughly enjoying it every time. The real beauty of this show lies in the subtle messages conveyed by these players. Jill Ellis is a genius strategist. I must congratulate T&C for creating a program that goes beyond superficiality, providing a go-to source for inside scoops and in-depth technical analysis, and setting it apart from other decorative shows. Bring it on...Episode 2 !!!

I've only ever seen Christen in more formal interviews or scripted things, it's great to see her personality! EDIT: Wow I feel like this is the most behind the curtains peek into the USWNT out there. Jill really gave specific stories and examples of her tactics instead of generic coach speak.

The debate section was brilliant, especially when Christen said that Tobin really cared about the topic, and she just cared who won 😂 by the way Tobin won. There was a lot of 🍵 served on all sides, and I could have listened for a lot longer to all of it. The tactical brains from all three of you are tremendous, and Tobin you should really coach one day! I’m still not over the fact that Tobin, Christen (and Becky!) aren’t playing in the Cup. :-( But wow is this show awesome. Tobin has major screen presence. (and we all knew Christen does). Articulate, informative, philosophical, fun but also serious. You guys are killing it. And it was great to see and hear from Jill. I could watch this for hours. wow....best discussion I've seen going into any tournament. In addition....Tobin needs to get into coaching! Holy crap. Press....can't wait to see her return to the pitch. Obviously Tobin also but if the body can't, man the vision she has of the game, the complete respect for the game and the level she would demand from her players....US and/or elite D1 programs, get her coaching.

Absolutely fascinating! Wonderful interview with an obviously brilliant and one-of-a-kind coach. I miss her. I loved the candid honesty of the conversation. And it was mesmerizing to hear Jill share so much of all that was going on, all the decisions and strategies both grand and detailed, that created the 2019 win. I felt like I was reliving the fan experience at a whole new level. Well done Tobin and Christen! I'm truly looking forward to the next one.

This was an incredible first episode Re-Inc! Having Tobin and Christen talk about their experiences on and off the field as World Cup champions in itself was an eye opening experience. The difference in the two and how they perceive their roles on and off the field was also interesting. Then when you bring Jill in and talk about her marginalization, it all makes perfect sense! Great job! Looking forward to the next episode!

This episode was great! I wish Jill was still head coach for the NT. She is phenomenal at what she does. Her vision of the game is amazing, she's extremely wise & such a legend! Even though there were players who disliked her (which I thought maybe Press was one of them considering how little she played her) it's the complete opposite! Seems like she respects her a lot & that speaks volume! Love these two! Sad they didn't make this WC. Press is one of the best player's of all time & I cannot wait to see her on the pitch again! Tobin your game is beauty! Love the Uswnt but I 100% agree with Tobin, there are just a lot of question marks about this team, & sad to think this but I dont see them winning this WC. I truly hope they prove me wrong but this teams just doesn't have the magic the '19 team did. No teamwork, they play more of an individual game instead of a wholesome & it shows. They have the talent but not the camaraderie/family vibe. Unfortunately, they also have such a mediocre coach, so maybe that also plays a big part, & with all it affects a tournament like this. Anyway still best of luck this WC!

Idk what I was expecting but this first episode exceeded them. I love how candid everything is and how much insight we are getting into building a successful team in both the perspective of the coach and players. The segment of Tobin spitting facts in the beginning was awesome and sometimes surprising funny. It is also so great that this is your platform and I don’t have to give add revenue to fox.

This was so interesting on so many levels. Tobin and Christen interviewing Jill was absolutely riveting. What I sort of expected to be a boring puff piece was instead a killer football nerd-fest that really got me into the minds of both the coach and the players - how they prepared for a World Cup, the things the coaching staff shared and didn’t share with the players, the way the players felt about their roles, how each side thought about the other. And the section where they discussed what the team did for equal pay and respect for gay folks was genuinely touching. Nice job ladies, can’t wait for the next one!

One of the best sports interviews I have ever seen. Absolutely loved this! The rawness of it all. Please don't even think of editing out anything in the future because this is what we love as fans of this team! I am also thinking I was way too hard on Jill in the past not understanding what goes on behind the scenes. It would be nice to have Jill come on again as a guest later on in this world cup. Hearing her perspective was so insightful. These women are amazing and I can't wait to see their legacies continue. Now let's get that 3peat!!!

I just stumbled on to this. Big fan of uswnt, since 1999. I’m not surprised at all, by the intelligence, interesting questions, perspectives of Tobin and Christen. And Jill, wow! No disrespect to vlatko, but I wish Jill was still the national coach. Her mindset rivals any of the best coaches in any sport. Fantastic show, I’ll be tuning into the next one, definitely.

She got a bad rep for not playing fan's favorite players, but this interview should shut them all up bc she very well respected by uswnt players. Looking forward so watching more episodes ladies.

Your 1st episode was brilliant. You brought me into the grit, effort, processes, viewpoints......and so much more that has to happen in a positive way, before you hit the pitch. I fell into soccer a year before the 2019 Cup, and I knew nothing .( I played field hockey in high school and university) I learned and I grew, and soccer (as a student and a follower, ) kept me sane. It was a lonely couple of years, and though I will never play a game, it means the world to me. Jill was perfect as the first guest, and I learned so much about that side of the game. And both of you did exactly what you promised, and showed us the game , the players and coaches from a perspective fans rarely get. Thank-you.
