Tobin and Christen present the final episode of The RE-CAP Show: World Cup Edition. In this episode they celebrate both England and Spain making it to the finals and put extra attention on the World Cup Champions; Spain. Then, Christen chats with Jamaica’s captain, Allyson Swaby, on Jamaica’s incredible run in the World Cup and how they surpassed expectations despite their lack of financial support. Then, Tobin and Christen are joined by the captain of the USWNT, Lindsey Horan to discuss Lindsey’s admiration of Tobin as a teammate from an early age, the responsibility she felt leading the American squad this World Cup, her goals for the Olympics and so much more. Finally, Tobin and Christen reflect on their first season of The RE-CAP Show and why they were inspired to pursue it. What do they want to see in women’s sports media? How do they plan to be a part of it? And why ‪@ally‬ is such an important sponsor to champion the game’s growth. And, as always, community questions, a World Cup Finals prediction and Tobin’s Top Things! Thanks to everyone who supported this season! I am 73 years old. I started playing women's soccer in 1978 and stopped in 2013. I have friends who are still playing in national tournaments. We were among the few who not only knew that the USWNT (such as it was) was in China playing a "world cup" in 1991 but we were looking for information on results from games -- no internet then! This show is SO terrific. The level of analysis, level of interviews/guests is just first rate. I knew I'd love it because Christen Press has ALWAYS been one of my favorite players and obviously Tobin Heath is one of the most technically proficient players the US has ever had but I had no idea that it would be so great in terms of how they approached all things having to do with women's soccer. The connection between the two of them, the laughs, the behind the scenes info has all been added delight. Please keep this going ... it has been wonderful

yes and it highlights exactly why the 2023 team did not win. What I am afraid of is the blame will all go onto the players - they were not good enough, fit enough, etc crap like that. Put the blame where is should be on the head coach who was so out of his league and ability!

I am 73 years old as well and obviously played a variety of sports before title 9. It was hard and you would often be vilified for wanting to play any sport. You stuck to it just for the love of it and tried to deal with the rest. Of course, that was if you even had any opportunities to begin with.

Your show had substance. I learned so much about the behind the scenes of women's soccer and you showed the world how professional women athletes are. Every episode was fascinating and fun! Nailed it again. Lindsey said so much about the coaching deficiencies without having to say much. She is such a force on the pitch. Great job as captain. Please, continue to enrich us with intelligent conversations and insights. This is a whole new level of sports coverage that assumes your listeners are intelligent and engaged. Sports is so much more than just what happens during game action, the people involved are individuals with perspectives and experiences that make them who they are as players. Learning about this side of them just makes watching that much more enjoyable and meaningful. Thank you for lifting up the women giving their all for whatever badge they are wearing.

Yes and we need the open honesty to come out from the players - US soccer needs to ask the players to give a full honest accounting as what they lacked going into the tournament and I think we all knew what it would be. For years veteran soccer fans could see the lack of JOY on the Nat women's team - they were not a group who knew how to play and win! You must ask WHY! You just can not put so many new untested players in key positions without experience in knowing what your team mate is going to do! All great teams know how to anticipate the ball and the team mate! We want more gold - get a coach who will bring in Jill's staff and that will look at the methods and plan that made us great! Sorry guys but we do not need a man's ego right now as a coach for the women's team!

Thanks, Tobin and Christen. This is such a smart, entertaining show. I love hearing from women in all kinds of roles in women's football. I watched the USWNT twice in person at the World Cup, and no other analysis (except for the Arsenal coach's on Men in Blazers-- where he credits Tobin for her thoughts) comes close. I love the way you are amplifying the messages of so many women as you give us insight into the lives of professional footballers. I'm a woman in a male-dominated field, and even though I have absolutely no experience playing high-level sports, it's easy to see that you have provided the kind of leadership that women need and deserve. The sky is the limit for you two. After the first two shows I wrote that they were the smartest and most interesting sports shows I’d ever seen. I also assumed (without saying it) that they couldn’t continue to be that good. Well, they did-and sometimes (like this last show), they even got better. I was never a soccer fan, but I’m a big fan of you both and what you’re working on with reMedia. It’s (past) time for women to get the recognition they deserve, and the ability to tell their stories themselves, in their own words and perspectives. I look forward to seeing more sports shows created by women that demonstrate just how good these shows can-and should-be. Like The reCap Show! Hope to see you soon.

I love this show and the different perspective on the game and just looking forward to more shows and interesting guests. Thank you so much for starting this memory for me, and so glad the U.S manager/coach has quit. So interested to see who the next manager will be and see what she/he does with the team.

I really love these episodes. Tobin you are a joy to hear, so much knowledge of football is just crazy, I really enjoyed that. Christen, your personality is just great if before The Recap Show you had my admiration as a player now is just total icing on the cake. Keep going, I can't wait to see what's next.

Tobin and Christen made an excellent point about Europe catching up to the US. The infrastructure was already there in Europe. Now, the FAs and clubs are putting resources and finances toward the women's side, so they're already able to compete for World Cups and Olympics. The US women have to had to build it from the ground up since the 1980s when the national team was established. US will have to invest more resources/money at club level and towards the national team to stay competitive. I'm curious if more players will go overseas to play in Europe or stay in the NWSL? I would love for NWSL to be huge, but I want our players playing against the best competition

It’s not the NWSL level that’s a problem, it’s the lower levels being nearly non-existent for young women. USSF just cancelled the minimal programs they did have, and now it’s only pay-for-play

Leaders lead under the worst conditions. That's what Lindsey did. ❤ Hope the USWNT learns a llot from this disappointment. Perhaps this will produce more belief in their spirits, and pride in their hearts. Afterall, they have four CUPS TO DATE, that no one can forget. I still believe in them, and support them. Great show ladies. Thanks a bunch. We see, and hear you.

Thank you both and the entire re-inc team for this amazing series and all the incredible coverage beyond the scoreline. I hope the show can return in some form because I would listen every week, there's always lots of WOSO matches/tourneys and big news going on. OMG could you imagine a 2024 Olympics show behind the scenes with Tobin and Christen on the USWNT roster! 💜

Really enjoyed all these episodes. Couldn't stop refreshing my browser waiting for the next one to drop. The interview with Dawn Scott was excellent! I learned so much. I hope some form of this will continue in the future, as I don't know of anything else like it. Would love to see you both again on the pitch, if that's in the cards as well :)

In case you're wondering about possible future segments, how about one that updates us about the challenges teams like Nigeria, Jamaica, South Africa, not to mention Spain and England, are facing with their federations? What can American fans do to help Women's football on the global stage?

I’m so happy they’re continuing this past the World Cup. Best analysis out there. Looked forward to every episode during the tournament. Obviously knew they are legendary players but didn’t know too much about Tobin and Christen before this but I really love them now - both as soccer analysts and people.

Thank You both, I coached youth soccer for twenty years with 3 daughters mostly girls teams. The way you personify the strength, confidence and leadership that can be gained from equality for women in sports is fantastic. My kids loved the beautiful game and led me to love it as well in part because of the positive impact that love had on them and our family. Please keep up what your doing!
