Rethink How You Practice Your Golf Swing by Getting Insurance

Wouldn't it be great if you had insurance to help you learn the Single Plane Swing quickly and correctly? Maybe you should rethink how you practice.
Consider that most of the time when you practice, you practice incorrectly. That fact alone should scare you. It might have you wondering if you should even practice at all. Well, I have a solution. It's what I call "Insurance". Insurance is knowing that you are practicing perfectly so that you can learn correctly and quickly.
The Single Plane golf swing is not a quick fix golf technique. It is a system, beginning at address, that simplifies the most important moment of the golf swing - impact. Starting at address on two planes where the arms hang straight down at address, the Conventional golf swing is complicated. Because the arms are hanging straight down, a conventional golfer must lift the body into impact creating stress on the back. This upward movement to accommodate the two planes is unnecessary.
The Single Plane Golf swing simplifies the golf swing by eliminating the need for the upward movement by starting and impacting on the same plane.
In this video I discuss one of my most important formulas for improvement - Using specifically designed training aids to ensure that I am practicing perfectly.

I'm 4 weeks in. Have watched 40+ of your videos and been implementing this system and seen significant improvement. I am a +2.7 index with conventional and still felt the inconsistency of the modern swing and having worked in the industry for 10 years and playing amateur golf for 15 years and finally thought something wasn't right. I didn't just need more reps or to work harder to get in the positions of the modern swing (they're difficult when not as flexible as the pros in my opinion) Everyone always told me my takeaway was too far inside but it's what felt great to me. Now I've learned that my takeaway was powerful and natural. I had a naturally learned bent left knee at impact but over rotated on backswing and downswing with absolutely no braking system. Incredible a-ha moments happening every day and biggest adjustments are weaker (feeling) lead hand grip and feeling the trail foot limitation and also swinging OUT to the right. I was told you have to swing left to fix your hook so I came in steeper and held off release to cut the ball. This is such a new freeing feeling and I will tell you it feels JUST as powerful as my conventional giant over rotation swing. My ball speed has stayed consistent with 175-177 with the driver but now with better technique, less moving parts, less effort and I'm looking forward to enjoying the pressure off the back! I have all the Graves training aids which have helped right off the bat for getting the proper feels. Each day was a new and better feel for 4 weeks. I can't recommend this enough and as this is the beginning of my winter project to completely change my swing, I can't help but think I'm off to a wonderful start. Thank you Todd for what you do. You're a great communicator and teacher for ALL. Anyone who discredits this doesn't know squat about the golf swing. I'm 38 and been around teaching professionals for the last 15 years and they've never talked about the braking system and rolling the right ankle, let alone how to stabilize anything. I find these concepts to be helpful for a single plane swing but ALSO a conventional swing if you want to make a few more compensations! 😉 Thank you again, I'm all in and looking forward to a great tournament run next summer as a dad needing something to do to stay in competition since my body can't handle basketball anymore.

Tried to use single plane swing today at the range for the first time. your explanation of the grip (mine was still too strong) would explain why I was occasionally hooking the ball. The only slices I saw today were when i lost the tilt of my body and finished the swing conventionally. Man, it's so nice to see straight ball flight and not be spraying it all over the park. I know it's only one day but I'm in.

Dug one out green side short side from the nasty thick stuff and plopped it tight. Just having fun for a round with it in my bag. The guys on the patio having a cold one took notice. Clever fellow that you are Todd!!! I used PvC pipe for awhile after i bought your book. The grip is really an improvement. Thanks again.

I just turned 58. In the last 7 years I have had 5 knee surgeries, 2 ankle surgeries and both shoulders replaced. I currently have a torn meniscus in the other knee. My swing has suffered tremendously. I have gone from an 8 to an 18 handicap. I have been searching for something to help. I first want to thank you for putting out this content for free, everyone seems to want to charge for any kind of tip these days. After watching all 7 parts of the series and watching many hours of Moe's swing, I decided to take the single plane swing to the driving range. While I know I still have a lot of work to do I could see a world of difference in the way I was hitting the ball in my first session. I had my daughter video my set up and swing and I brought it home and studied it. The biggest thing I was fighting was letting the club head get ahead of my hands. I love how you talk about feeling, that is what I need to help learn. What should I be doing (feeling) to make sure I keep my hands ahead of the club head at impact?
@ToddGravesGolf
@ToddGravesGolf 4 жыл бұрын
Ok. Let me talk you through this. Most of the time you will "release early" if you are under-rotated with the upper body through the ball (impact). This is likely caused from lower body not being turned enough, which in turn, is stopping the upper bod from rotating. Here are a few steps. 1) Shorten the backswing a bit, 2) make sure you are rotating your pelvis around a flexed lead knee. 3) turn the upper body through the ball (open the torso more). I just put together a video on this and will get it edited an on the channel ASAP. Thanks.

If only I had clamps and not hands... ;) When they both behave as good clamps and I get that "great" presentation of the clubface to the ball, what a feeling. Fighting 50 years of conventional grip and swing may be hard but the lack of back pain after practicing and playing is joyful. I was ready to pack it in when confinement led to the SPS and a return to the feeling I once had many years ago on the course. 3 games in and despite issues with ball position, grip strength and foot placement, the future is so bright, I just got to wear shades. :)

Hi Todd this is Dave from the UK . Just watched the great video. haven’t been able to obtain a ABT from the UK , one query I have is the ball position in respect of the front foot .In the video you mention 5 inches , but the ball looks more than that and also in the product picture it’s seem to be about 9inches based on the 36 inch dimension.We are now out of lockdown so out for a game after a month , your help would greatly been appreciated.Thanks and have a great XMAS

I became a SILVER Program member yesterday because I believe in the model and look forward to becoming a better student under Coach Graves. Gotta say shot a 74 in the kauai tradewinds this morning and had one hell of a ball striking day the system works for me plus no back pain!!

I tried this swing for 11 months and found it totally un natural and really uncomfortable , forcing yourself to copy someone that really not built like you. Only started getting improvement when used a narrow stance and used my lower body in swing, results have been great wen from 94 shooter at best to low 80's within a week of changing from trying to copy Moe. If this was so good you would see pro's doing this more, there is a reason they are not doing it. No two people are the same and need to make the swing your own not spend countless hours trying to copy someone, this makes golf a complicated game, certainly not easy.

Lester, sorry you did not accomplish the correct Single Plane Swing. I am 6’ 3” tall and the Single Plane Swing works great for me and for friends who are much shorter than me. Practicing the Single Plane Swing correctly is critical. I’ve seen a couple of people try the Single Plane Swing “incorrectly” on the driving range with no training aids and trying to teach themselves. I use Graves Golf Academy training aids and I use video feedback from GGA Coaches and I get great feedback and success. The Single Plane Swing is os much easier and consistent and can be for anyone willing to practice correctly. Like the conventional swing, it does take practice to hit the correct Single Plane Swing “positions” consistently and override those old convention swing muscle memory swing positions. My goal, at 70 years old is to shoot consistently in the mid to high 70s, and I can now see this happening using the Single Plane Swing and with my great coaches from Graves Golf Academy. Oh, and the cost for GGA coaching is far less than paying local golf Pros who also all teach the conventional swing differently.
