All of this didn't happen like this in the manga. Tokyo ghoul kinda falls off in season 2 and tries to save itself in season 3 but doesn't work because they rushed things and left a lot of context out.

In terms of TG being graphic, yes. It’s a lot more gruesome in the manga, especially yhe facial expressions. I remember getting chills when Kaneki first woke up in the hospita and even the one where he went crazy during Jason’s torture, when he accepted hes a ghoul. Hes like ripping his face 😂

Do to answer your question about censoring, yes it is heavily censored in the anime. The manga is extremely gory and raw. Once you start reading it you'll see. It's 100% worth the read.

just as I thought. Tokyo Ghoul anime is quite disappointing, really. It needs to be re-animated like some of those anime ( I don't really know what those anime(s) are ). The manga is more brutal than the anime itself as Sui Ishida is the artist and he did the assignment well. For the anime, I can see that they hold back on blood and straight up censor everything. From the bottom of my heart, Tokyo Ghoul deserves better.
