One of the greats, absolute legend!????

One of my childhood heroes. Huge talent and a classic forever. To admit this is more a man than ever. Thanks and I like you as much as ever. Life is rough and can lead you many wrong ways. Everyone has this challenge one way or another. Be it selling yourself for money, fame, acceptance it all is a trick to the dark side. Glad you turned back before it was too late. Awesome performance at the last Pipe masters (2014!) You showed all you still have! Keep it up.

only learned today Tom went through an addiction battle....Tom was an idol to me and most surfers in the 80s and 90s....a salt of the earth guy and aussie legend that embodied australian surf values. very sad to hear he went through this and very glad he found a way out

i´ve been with tom carrol when i was 14 at my home city oporto, Portugal. He signed me a catalog of quicksilver, He was reall nice to all who where there that day. He was my surfing idol. i´ll never forgot that day. I´ve watched "all down the line" hundreds of times with my best friend when we started surfing. Watching this is great, although all the problems he had he´s still the man. Great guy and a great example!
