Thank you Mr. Chambers for your service to this country ! My brother was a LRRP., and never talks about it. I did see that he had several medals a Bronze Star , and DFC . The thing he seemed to be proudest about was his CIB . He was a Sgt. in the 101st. His daughter is Major in the Marines, and a Naval Academy graduate. The only time I heard him say anything about his time in Viet Nam was at the Wall in DC. We must thank anyone that served for their country, and giving us the democracy we are privilaged to enjoy.

Tom Chambers is both a gentleman and a brother. As an Army paratrooper veteran (101st. Airborne Division 'Screaming Eagles' Vietnam/Cambodia) Tom's experiences are the real deal and I would have been honored to have served with him. Mr. Ballard, this is the best series I've ever seen on what we experienced. Thank you to you both and God bless!!!

I am also a Vietnam veteran, I have gotten to the point, that I don't need to hear, "thank you for your service." For many years I would not wear any headgear indicating that I am a Vietnam veteran. I joined for me first up, the country was second, and I still stand with that belief today at age 70; Vietnam 12/1970 to 12/1971 - Mekong Delta IV Corp.

0:50 This is the scriptural reason why; this is the best country in the world... Luke 18:20 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother. 21 And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up. 22 Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. Few of we Americans have ever sold all we posess & given it to the poor... but all of we Americans who've paid & are paying our taxes have given on average 30% of all we could have posessed to the poor; not only here at home... but globally as well. This i believe is what truly keeps this Nation the most free & best in the world. Superseded only by our will to relieve the many oppressed citizens worldwide. 12418
