I laughed so hard when your face dropped realising what the song ultimately was about. Storytime! I'm from South Wales, like Tom Jones himself. Back in school we used to have celebrations on St. Davids day, and a mini eisteddfod celebrating the education, language, culture and people of Wales. A key part of this at school was singing. I mean we sang hymns daily anyway, but this was a SPECIAL occasion. So, we used to find an excuse to play this, granted it was an old song even at the time I was still in school, but we didn't care. Either way, the teachers tried to ban us from singing this so wouldn't let us find a way to play the music. Well the fight lasted for 2 years and the students won both times; basically, the orchestra kids would be involved in activities for the day, but suddenly would start playing Delilah and then EVERYONE would sing it as loud as they could. It was organised chaos, since not everyone would know the orchestra kids would play; but they'd certainly sing along. After the second year of the orchestra kids finding loopholes they gave up. lol

Besides Tom Jones, I also really liked watching Johnny Spence, the music conductor, rockin' out in the background. The man had some moves!!!
