I had an old Triumph 350cc Tiger back in 1972. Loved that bike once I converted from a café racer to a more sit up and beg style. Many happy summer night memories running into Canvey Island or South End just for a week night summer ride and something to eat along the sea front with my pending wife 👍... Tomboy Great review! I think it's the best looking of all the 400cc class bikes. I own 3 Triumphs right now and that bike and the Scrambler are pure Triumph quality. Triumph is going to sell a LOT of them. Thank you for the wonderful London Ride! Ride SAFE and BE safe Lady! 👍👍

I'd think the biggest thing you're feeling between the two bikes is the difference between the scrambler's narrow 2.5" × 19" front wheel and the speed's 3" × 17". That, combined with tyre difference. Proper road rubber on the speed model. I think it's great looking and seems like the perfect first or preferred lightweight bike. Look forward to seeing lots of them on the road! Very cool and capable bike to get more people riding for sure 😎👌

Lovely looking bike , perfect for the city I think, I would be scared shitless to ride in London now ,but I think the Triumph Speed handles it very well.

Dear Mr Triumph why not a 500 twin? Where is your Triumph heritage. the 500 twin was the nicest Triumph to ride.

Cost to profit/manufacturing/market demand etc... A Twin cylinder is expensive, maintenance wise also not ideal when you are looking to achieve profit, sale & inexpensive to make. Also remember these 400s are primarily for emerging & developing countries!

I haven't ridden these bikes but I did sit on them (in the same Triumph showroom in Vauxhall! 🙂) One thing that surprised me was the height. They are actually taller than the 900cc bikes! This is interesting,. especially when you compare it to the other manufacturer that you test rode in London (Royal Enfield HNTR, 😉) which is so small that it almost feels like a 125cc. I'm sure it is great for an urban environment but there's something good about riding through the streets with a 900cc parallel twin under you and imagining that everyone is enjoying it as much as you! 🤣

Great review. It begs the question, 'Do you need a bigger bike?' (Brave riding through London, it's bad enough in a protective metal box on wheels).

In the mid 80s I had a GSX400 (Suzuki) four stroke twin. Perhaps one of my favourite bikes. It's a pity Suzuki doesn't re-introduce it. Forty years later and there hasn't been much progress really.

A beautiful little Bike with all the Ride-modes I need, all tucked away nicely in my wrist and called "feel". Unfortunately, the colour Green is not available on the Speed..., so you buy the Scrambler, which you like better, and i'll take the Speed, then we can swap the Tanks. Yes, why not, this Red suits you better than me! Oh yes, that smile..., it's always better to ride a Small bike fast, than to ride a Fast bike slow..., that's why you always have that smile when on a small bike!

이 바이크는 한국에서 판매 되어도 정말 잘 팔릴 것 같습니다. 제발 한국에 빨리 판매 될 수 있게 해주세요!! 한국은 이륜자동차 하나 제대로 만들지 못하는 나라지만 바이크를 사랑하는 사람들은 정말 많습니다. 물론 바이크를 혐오하는 사람도 정말 많구요.... 지구상에서 유일하게 이륜자동차가 자동차 전용도로를 통행하는 것은 위험하다고 통행하지 못하게 하는 부끄러운 나라이기는 하지만....심지어 이륜자동차가 자동차 전용도로에 진입만 해도 벌금형이나 구류 형으로 남은 인생을 전과자로 살게 만들지만....
