TONEX AC30 "Warm" Preset Pack // Demo by Sam Wittek

Six new presets have been added to my AC30 TONEX bundle made in collaboration with Sam Wittek. These presets are designed with bright single coil guitars in mind. Sam's number 1 guitar is a Fender Telecaster with Porter Custom Tele pickups, and while that guitar sings, the bridge pickup can be hard to tame. Sam and I worked hard together to dial in an amp tone that still had plenty of cut yet perfectly tames the harsh top end AC30's and Tele's are known for. If your pickups of choice are single coils, you owe it to yourself to test out these captures!

This particular AC30 is a 90’s Korg Era AC30 6TB with an original Celestion Greenback and a new Fane Ascension F25 speaker. This amp has been heavily modded by Don “Toneman” Butler, a Los Angeles area legend. Don equipped this amp with a Mercury Magnetics Axiom transformer and choke, replaced all the signal path components, changed the filtering to JMI specs, upgraded various components and more. This amp is the tone I’ve been chasing in my head for years and the TONEX has finally given me a way to capture it in a pedalboard friendly package!

These presets are designed to be my go-to all around presets for a variety of guitars but sound particularly good with humbuckers.

WARM
Made in collaboration with Sam Wittek for his Telecaster equipped with bright Porter Custom single coil pickups. These presets are warmer than my originals to provide a smoother top end while still poking through the mix and work especially well with bright pickups.

I need to get on that! But you can check out some of my other recent videos. The video on the Case Study Aspen Overdrive uses the AC30 and Prosonic. The video on the Lambertones V90 uses the AC30 and Matchless Clubman. In the descriptions of all my videos it tells which amps I’m using. 🤙🏼

Any plans to update your AC30 pack with an Alnico Blue? Regardless, these sound great and I think 'm going to need to pick them up for my new tonex one!

Maybe at some point! I love playing with new speakers. First I’ll recapture my main AC30 sound with the F25 speaker. Then I’ll likely play with others, like the blue.

As I mentioned to Sam, this is such a great tone of a Vox that you have to buy a Tonex. But....I have 2 QC's so I really hope these patches will soon be on my QC so I don't really need to buy a Tonex 😉🙏 Love your video's and work, both of you!! And uhh, love The Edge of breakup sound❤ Grtzzz Leon

Thanks my friend! At the moment neither of us use a Helix so we don't have any plans to make a preset for it. I will have some resources for Quad Cortex and Fractal soon though.
