Hmmm... doing my research into Makabu after Eddy Reynoso announced Canelo's desire to challenge him next after the victory over Plant. Putting the size difference et al aside, for the moment, just concentrating on the stance and boxing style alone, I see some troublesome issues with Makabu's boxing that Canelo would exploit. Now, of course, this fight here was five years ago (obviously) and so I'll go check his other fights next for a proper, more complete assessment. Now, bringing back two other factors into the mix: size and shot power...it'd be a really interesting thing to watch: too early to objectively determine who'd win - aside from the obvious and classic "going with the bigger guy" instinctive opinion. It's too early to tell... None of us expected this match. And as of now, it's only an official request - not a signed contract. Who'd win? Would you bet your house & riches on it? Are we that sure of the outcome? 🤔

I think Makabu gives Canelo the most problems out of any of his opponents since GGG, might look like a cherry pick but Makabu is a very dangerous explosive puncher who isn’t a wild swinger he actually picks his power shots well and won’t be intimidated, Canelo can’t afford to be overconfident here and he can’t just walk him down trying to bomb Makabu out of there for risk of getting clipped by something big.
