Mailing in tools to get warrantied isn't a pain in the butt,easy.I have sent in broken tools into Mac,Cornwell and SK,replacements received within 2 weeks.Snap On,can send them in if no dealer in the area.Call them first.Encounter an older Snap On tool made for the military,throw it away when broken.No warranty on these,was put in the contract stating no warranty on them and was considered stolen.These have a letter V in the part number and a dull finish.That Mastercool flaring tool set,worth every penny,perfect flares everytime.

Interesting to see Ridgid lol. I use Ridgid at home and Milwaukee at work. Have had problems with the Milwaukee stuff breaking but most of it's tough. Don't use my Ridgid as much but it works great for home use! My 1/2 Ridgid impact takes off just about any bolt on the cars/trucks I work on at home! Definitely wouldn't work for heavy duty diesels!

What ball joint kit was that? I was considering getting the Snap-on BJP-1 for my 05 F-350.

Get the BJP-1. I've used them all and I will never use anything else now. I was sold after blowing up 2 normal OTC types and big breaker bars where the snappy and impact gun took it right out. It's all in the design of the frame and forcing screw.

Rusty do yourself a favor and type in astro pneumatic pinless impact sockets, im sure they're around $60 and the same thing as matco like all the other rebranded stuff.

Not owning a white box lol nah they dont stain as bad as you'd expect. My coworker has a white Cornwell cart and he gives it a brief wipe down a couple times a day, that's about it

Love the white box. But man you need to organize better. I used to be the same way and didn't realize how much time I wasted hunting for tools and not noticing stuff was missing. Now everything has a place and it makes jobs much smoother and efficient. Great video and great people. Thanks

Love watching these videos because my dream job is to be a diesel mechanic. I got my chance but the company was a joke and let me go on the first day and refused to pay me and stole my dad's 3/4 drive craftsman breaker bar he let me borrow I tried to get it back but was threatened to be arrested for "trespassing" but I ain't gonna let that get me down im still gonna pursue my dream and passion

Are you saying that Snap-On and its tools and equipment are overpriced, overrated, over-hyped, and, while being one of the higher quality tool companies, are still just *marginally* better in quality, dependability, and build than an average tool company; such as Stanley (who is the maker of many brands like Husky and Kobalt)? There is *NO* way you are implying that Snap-On is not worth the 400%, and at times as much as 700%, difference in price all while many independent tests show that Snap-On is slightly higher in tested qualities and in nearly all of the cases is shown to *NOT* be statistically significant. Thus, one should infer that the difference in quality does *NOT* offset the difference in cost of ownership. Is this what you want us to believe?

can sometimes depend on the area and the person but in my area diesel techs are much higher paid than auto techs. we are also typically paid hourly which is great when you first start out because you have a steady paycheck. some diesel shops run a commission base which pays you more when you are on billable time but still have a base hourly wage when it gets slow and your pushing a broom

Wow thats fucked up.. In the Netherlands the snap on truck comes by and you just take what you need/ want. I thought that was normal.. But how does it work with new beginner mechanics?? tools are pretty expensive

MrCobra not sure about stateside. But here in Canada I know that auto mechanic students get a huge discount on tools while they are in school.

MrCobra and who pays for the stuff you just take that you guys need, want? Your employer? Do you guys get a certain amount tool allowance or something each year? Are they considered company tools or do you take them when you change employers? How does it work with tool boxes, tool carts, other big stuff, etc? Maybe @rustbelt could do a livestream with you some night on a weekend or sometime and do a Q&A session to see what things are like there?

jspeed99 I still use one. It’ll go for over a week without the need to charge. I don’t need a laptop on my side.i just need a phone for emergency use.
