I bought this last weekend to work on our porch (victorian with lots of moldings)...I love it ...outstanding. One caveat--the battery life is grossly optimistic...my estimate is less half of the "250 lineal feet" estimate --using the 5 amp hour. Most surprising was the ability to route channels using large strait bits--these are always demanding cuts--and I did make multiple passes---but plenty of power. It's a real tool and not just a glorified laminate trimmer.

Are you using an HO battery??? If not your not getting what the tool actually can do....any fuel tool takes advantage of the High Output batteries for future reference.

Only thing missing is a base that is adjustable to work on angled work pieces. I'll probably still buy the Milwaukee, but that missing base option leaves a hole when it comes to shop work.

I bought it but router bit won't fit ,do I need to mod something or what ? Bits that i have are 1/4
@toolnut
@toolnut 2 жыл бұрын
Nothing to mod, collet is for 1/4 shank bits. Remove entire collet and nut from router and make sure both are snapped together. If these separate (happens occasionally with all brands) very hard to get bit in an router and also to tighten collet. If still an issue & purchased from us call our customer service department and we can run you through possible other things to try.

This Milwaukee or the Dewalt XR? Any suggestions?
@toolnut
@toolnut 4 жыл бұрын
Matt, both are great options and we've received very positive customer feedback from both models. It really comes down to battery platform for many customers. The DeWALT does have a good selection of accessories that you may want to check out. We also have a deal with the DeWALT currently when you buy this router and a second qualifying tool, you get TWO free 20V 5.0ah batteries, charger and carry bag. www.toolnut.com/dewalt-dcw600b-20v-max-xr-brushless-cordless-compact-router-tool-only.html

Hi matt as a furniture maker I've used a lot of routers and laminate trimmers and personal I prefer the Milwaukee trimmer over the dewalt it feels more capable and I use two batteries and find that by the time I've exhausted one the next is charged, depending on what what brand you have it will be cheaper to use your existing batteries

Just an FYI, Its a "FUEL" Tool.....Meaning you dont get any benefits from paying that extra $$ if your not using a HO 9High Output) battery.....The Fuel tools take advantage of the HO by giving more power and more runtime....any tests done without an HO battery simply arent reflective of hat a Fuel tool is actually capable of. That is the whole reason for that line and those batteries....for example their standard drill, while it can run off an HO battery....it wont actually take advantage of the power that the battery is capable of....the fuel drill will. Any fuel tool, certainly a review.....to give it an honest run demands an ho battery. Again, why buy a 100,000 dollar vehicle only to drop a 20,000 dollar vehicles engine/battery in it?????

I just got my Milwaukee router set, the whole set, everything, including the HD box and offset, EU version (Germany), cost me a kidney too! problem is, in Europe we use 8mm bits, that's the most popular, common standard here, I guess it's a legacy from the pro corded era. anyway, so far, I can't use my router because all my bits are high end 8mm shaft bits, and the only collet they included was the 6mm, and please keep it metric, be civilized, cmon, the imperial shouldn't even exist at this point, even the UK, the originating imperialists, adopted the metric system long ago, as did the US, before some bizarre series of events pushed this universal system into oblivion over there! sad.. very sad. and confusing, to the rest of the world. please, people, can anyone help me here, I have a Bosh Pro router, corded and the little cordless 12v thing, also brushless, none of the collets fit the new milwaukee, the thread is different, stepping and diameter, and of course Milwaukee won't offer the 8mm, why should they. I have about 100 router bitts, very expensive, high end pro bits, all, but really, every single one of them with the 8mm shaft, and I'm not alone. I wrote to Milwaukee Germany, Milwaukee EU, Milwaukee.com, nothing! I reached out to other brands, but they just shut me down fast, claiming their collets only fit their own tools, period! I really don't want to get every bit I need in 6mm again, this is ridiculous, I never thought this would be so hard! does anyone know, do these other brands offer 8mm collets that would fit the new Milwaukee? thank you!

As soon as you started describing how it was a bare tool, I turned the video off. Nothing against you. It’s not your fault. I can’t justify even wasting my time watching a video on something that costs $180…… And you can’t even use the damn thing without buying an expensive battery, as well as the plunge base separately.
@ariip
@ariip 3 жыл бұрын
Most times people already have lots of batteries with other tools as I do. A router is usually not the first thing a contractor will buy. A drill and impact/screw gun. I would not want to be forced to get more batteries. The truth is that I actually get batteries online separately for less then they charge for kits and they are also charging you for additional chargers which I also do not need. Once you have a few chargers, you can use more batteries, but not more chargers. Kits will cost more for the extra charger.
