Tools and subtools are slightly different from Brushes in Krita. Tools are more similar to the different brush engines Krita offers. Krita also has a tagging system for its categorization of brushes, so a brush preset can be visible in multiple categories!

Not sure I understand... You can search a term on the Brush Presets docker and it will show up relevant brushes i.e., type in "paint" and the brushes under the Paint category and other similar brushes will show up on the Docker. You can also make your own category and add brushes to that category, that way you have a place for your own set of favorite brushes :) My other guess is you would like to have Brush Size, Flow, Opacity, visible at all times. There's a few ways of going about it but it's a bit hard to explain in text 😅

At 1:07 you use a shortcut ro open what seems to be the color picker and color selector where your cursor is. What is the shortcut for this?

I'm not sure if it's set by default. Go to Settings>Configure Krita>Keyboard Shortcuts>then search Show color selector then you can bind it to any key you want :) I put mine on V
