That was strait forward as hell. The only change I would make is you are gonna need scratch paper to layout your panels. At Blick supplies, online, you can buy 100 sheets of loose leaf drawing paper for like $4. 500 sheets for about $12. Man, you are killing it on the fan outreach here. Keep it up, my man!

One interesting thing about that Faber-Castell brush tip at 7:00 is that you can take the tip out once it gets frayed, and then stick it back in the other way-essentially replacing the tip for free. As far as I know, it's the only brush tip pen that can do this, because it's the only kind where the inner section and the tip are the same shape. EDIT: Ditto on the lack of Bubblicious. When did _that_ happen?

Very helpful - I'm wondering why you don't contact the companies or have someone do it for you, b/c they'll hook you up and sponsor you. You're giving them free advertisement and from an artist at your level, after all.

Hey Uncle Ethan! Thanks for the advice and recommendations on the art supplies that comic book artists use. I went to a local Hobby Lobby and I got the blue leaded pencils and bristol board paper even some with the bleed line guidelines on it, I picked up a Westcot drafting ruler like you suggested. I got some micron inking pens cause that's basically what they had at the time. I even got the circle templates and a couple French curve templates. You was right on. Less than $100.00 for all of it. Thank you!

Really useful and cool vid :D I've always wanted to make my own series on a superhero fight club but I've never been that good at drawing, I do animations more and I might be thinking of doing the comic series that way? I also love Staedtler pencils and I often use biro as I like the feel of them.

Totally agree with your choice of ruler and pencils. Used to use Micron, but if I ink, it tends to be digital now ( don't have to worry about mistakes!). If I try to ink on paper, will definitely try Copic. My personal preference is to draw with red pencil instead of nonphoto blue. Thanks for the tips!

although I like fineliners for on the go drawing I still prefer a dip pen brush and ink

I would like to see you lay out a page, margin measuring included, on that Bristol paper, along with any tips of the trade. Not super detailed or anything, just the process.

I enjoy a 3H pencil myself, feels nice when doing soft and hard detailing.

Watched this vid a few months ago. Really inspired me to try the comic book style. I have just a few sheets left of my Bristol board now and I've made about $1000 from prints of my originals. Thank You Sir.

Obviously times have changed. In my day, and I did do professional inking back in the 80's/90's , it was common to ink with Windsor Newton Series 7 brushes and a slew of different Hunt quill points and rapidograph pens like the disposable ones you show which were not available then (we used refillable ones) were relegated to straight line background inks. There was a time when I was under a very tight deadline (overnight) that I inked everything including dead-line backgrounds with my trusty Windsor Newton my brush control was that good.

I have to say after using Pigma Microns for years, and still do since I have a lot of them, Copic Multi Liners are wonderful to work with! Also I loved that bumper sticker but I need one that says my cat is a non voting felon.
