Is this safe to use on older cars? My family members are first time drivers with a 1997 Lexus es300 and a 2004 Toyota Camry.

Absolutely safe. It won't output 2k amps unless necessary. Usually cars only require about 200 amps to start.

The battery in the video is not actually dead or there wouldn't be any lights on the dash nor any alarms going off to indicate the door is open and the key is in the ignition. When I connect my unit to my battery and hold down the power on button, all the lights come on leaving the percent charge of the unit, but there's no readout of the battery's voltage, the start light doesn't come on and then the unit shuts itself down.

You can use emergency force restart if the car 12V battery is really low. I once revived a 4V battery!

@@ToolsElectroDIY Thanks. I finally read the directions and tried the forced start on my battery which was at 5V. The car started, but shut off after a few seconds several times, even though I left the unit connected. I'll try jump starting it the usual way and see if that works to charge the battery when left connected for 10 to 15 minutes. Then try to charge it overnight. I bought the battery in March, but the car sat for a month and a half, but it seems like the battery should still take a charge.

@@ToolsElectroDIY Thank you, just saw a vid on boost mode. didn’t observed any instructions on that in product packaging 🤷🏽… plus when I got it on boost mode it read 16V, hope it doesn’t damage anything on start up
