I bought my first 3D printer two years ago. I have spent enough time watching KZfaq videos on 3D printing that Noah could have built the Arc twice. I have never ever seen or heard of you. I like the idea of the dremel storage tower but it is literally available, filled with dremel tools, and is only slightly more expensive than the raw plastic filament needed to print it.

For the bolt sizer you could also add hex cutouts so you can super glue hex nuts into it to see what the exact threading is for that bolt (like a 10-32 vs 10-24)

The Prusa adaptation of the TUSH, used on the Prusa Mini, is far superior to the regular TUSH. It is very adjustable without falling over, and if you put non-slip foam pads on the bottom of the Prusa Mini spool holder, it does not slip on most surfaces.

Jokes aside, two things that could improve the TUSH; A) make one side of the base taller than the other so it helps guide the filament spool. B) put Lego Technic axle mounts in it, so you can separate them and adjust distances using technic axles

The Prusa Mini comes with a better version of the Tush in the package. It's the same idea but has two adjustable connectors inbetween to hold it together, as well as rubber pads.

6:08 I've actually printed this Tush before and I use it for my spools, however they keep getting knocked over with the slightest touch and it's really annoying so I designed a bracket that connects them together so they don't tip over and they're always the right width apart.

Why not add two features to the tush? 1 - grippable feet on the bottom of each tush so these don't slide around. 2 - a socket that allows a thick spoke to plug into the sides that is telescoping. This would perfectly space your tush feet apart to accommodate your spools.

I love tushies, they're the best! I swear, I could spend all day looking at those tushies work, and I wouldn't get tired! The only problem is that the bigger ones are harder to clean, so I would recommend sticking to a decent sized tush (avoid the small ones, they're too flat to be useful)

I was actually thinking of designing a bit holder for my rotary tool, it's not a Dremel but it works for me and they sent it to me for a review video and I use it almost daily. But yeah, as I get more accessories I need a better way to store them.

Do not print that massive holder, it really is abusing printing as a medium. The proper way to do is to print the intricate bits and then use wood or even rigid foam to construct the base. Printers are not replicators, you need to mix and match with different materials and methods.

How to make the videos on one of the most coolest channels on youtube by far even better? Easy. Include closed captions on every video. I know, I know you have them on "some" videos. But I mean every video. I read lips but I'm not an expert yet and you talk really fast, which is awesome because you get more information in every video and more information is good, but speed talking is not ideal for the deaf. Regardless, thanks for being so cool, so well informed and so humorous. You elevate emotionally, elevate intellectually and you deserve your official youtuber award. Just become a tiny bit cooler and make sure I can understand 100% of your videos. Your number one fan forever.

That dremmel tool holder is cool, but it could be more manageable to print by making it into connectable smaller modular prints that a user can add to as they get more accessories.

About the screw sorting jigs, I suggest sticking a magnet on the underside. It will pick up the screws as well as sort them.

The TUSH problem could be solved by having little holes in the bottom of each to glue some strong magnets. Then you could just have a little metal plate on the surface to stick them to. That way you can have a stronger way to secure it without sacrificing the versatility of being able to place them where ever you want

No no no you dont want glue anywhere near a tush. the point of the tush is to have easy access to its use. You always want the oposite of glue around a tush, which is lube. lots of lube so that the tush can always be accomodating for its use. Some good high capacity penetration, I mean fillament pulling.

Instead of snap fit, just use a nut and bolt. They're cheap, won't break, and easy to find. Sometimes it's best not to think too hard or over engineer.

You referring to the wheelchair? Those are often used by low budget filmmakers in place of a dolly. Lock the front wheels and it will roll smooth and straight.

#5 is an umbrella swift, but for fillament. I'm also a knitter, and yarn can come in hanks. You use an umbrella swift (or a grumpy partner) to hold the hank while you wind it into a ball.

Great ideas! Funny to me that you love the dremel so much, and I'm sure I'll use mine more when I get my 3D printer, but I've always viewed them as terribly underpowered die grinders. 😂

It's fine for carving holes in enclosures, filing down prints, brushing solder mask off traces, and other small-scale tasks that come up in the handheld gizmos I build. If I did bigger jobs, it's definitely underpowered.

@@ZackFreedman yes, for sure, every tool has it's place. I've used mine when trimming bezels for head unit installs, or similar. I think I just initially expected way too much out of my dremel when I got it years ago, hahaha.

New sub and nice video. I have a question what material are you use for print. For me im new on this. For the moment already use petg but still not understand how to have a better printing. How many if the adecuate infil and how to made first layer and last layer more stronger

Thanks for the sub! I love PETG and do most of my Nerf printing in it. I can only guess about your issues, but your problems could all be caused by low temperatures. Make sure you're printing at 230-240C, with an 85C bed. If you have drafts (cold breezes) in your printing room, try plugging gaps or putting a trash bag over your printer to keep the temperature stable. Most first-layer issues with PETG are caused by poor bed adhesion. I use the Prusa's PEI-coated steel plate, and I thoroughly scrub it with Windex (diluted ammonia window cleaner) before EVERY print. PETG also likes to build up on the nozzle. Make sure you heat your nozzle up and thoroughly wipe it down with a clean cloth before EVERY print. I generally use 15% gyroid infill. If you're having infill problems, try reducing your infill print movement speed and lowering your fan speed. PETG likes to "pillow" and make other defects on top layers. I'd recommend at least 6 top layers, regardless of layer height.

@@ZackFreedman Thanks for your answer. The temp that already use are 244 and on the bed 80. Adhesion sometimes a i think have too much neer more case i can't take the piece out and need to reheat the bed again. For infil more of all case i use between 50 to 80 %. I don't if i making wrong. Also fan speed already setup to 50 % and the speed that i use are 25mm/s. yesterday i print a fan holder but i fill softly. I use the setting that are tell you but i use also infill i use 20 %. My printer is a JG MAKER magic 3D

I found some TUSH remixes that use fatter tracks for better stability and, best of all, trays in which to put them so they don't go flopping around. Thing #s 3353204 and 4262784, for the curious. Also, thank you for sharing the loose filament spool! Since the day it first arrived I have very much enjoyed my Maker Box subscription, except for the times where I load the little coils onto a spool by hand. I have this filament winding station that has made a truly awful task into merely a laborious and annoying task but I want to try this loose filament spool instead to see if I can print tangle-free and not spend billable hours winding by hand.

Only problem is you need to calibrate the holes because PLA changes size on cooling!

@@pentachronic I printed mine in PLA, didn't see too much deformation upon cooling. The sizer works really well, and there are no issue trying to figure out the screw sizes. With that, all of my screw sizes are at least 2mm apart.

@@DargoDog Cool. Thanks for the info. Good to know. I've had tolerance issues when making threads so there definitely is some deviations from spec. It might be related to the volumetric size and on smaller dimensions is less significant ?
