Күн бұрынMaking a top 10 list about the best looking Hidden Super Desperation Moves in KOF 2002 UM is a daunting task. Not only the game has the biggest roster in the entire series, meaning that cuts will be made, and sacrifices will be taken, but also ranking something based on its looks is very subjective. But Thanks to your help, I managed to reduce the 66 candidates to 10 entries, plus another 10 as honorable mentions.

Fun Fact: you can totally manipulate Orochi Shermie's Unmei no Ya's landing by pressing A+4 and C+6 in alternative order, before the lightning appears on screen. It always works. "Curiosidades de Clark Kane" has a video showcasing that trick... on Vanilla 2002. Not sure if it works on UM

There was a urban legend in my hometown when the first arcade machines of KOF 2002 arrived: they said that during the Athena HSDM there was a secret input that might reveal her completely naked 😂, we all were trying and trying different combinations to get the desired result lol, good times.

Mai Shiranui has my favorite HSDM It is very stylish and shows Mai's personality. She is a cool kunoichi but she is also a fanservice lady, and she embraces it! That is one of the reasons why I like Mai, there aren't many female characters as bold as her (Maybe Shermie and Kisarah Westfield) 🥰 Bless the developer who came up with that Desperation Move for Mai!

The fact that he straight up stopped an orbital strike with just his energy is sick as hell. Not only because of his strength but think about how fast he had to react to do that.

This is why a KOF anime should’ve happened. Can you imagine these supers on TV? Yeah, Dragon Ball wishes it had that much potential. I still want SNK to make one, but with weak animation like in Fatal Fury OVAs, Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, the first 5 seasons of Pokémon, etc., at least in the Orochi Saga (which is what they did in a Pachinko cutscene). Then for the NESTS saga, then the animation can be Pokémon season 6-9, Gintama, Dragon Ball Z, Mega Man NT warrior, etc. Doing the anime with today’s animation wouldn’t feel the same.

About Kyo and Athena's HSDMs, those moves actually came from KOF 2001 And don't forget that most of the HSDMs in 2002UM came from vanilla 2002 You can say all about the 'Eolith era' of KOF but it gave us amazing and unique Supers, most of these became really iconic and returned in future games. So yeah, Thank you Eolith! 😄👍

Fun fact about the Kusanagis Zero Mushiki hsdm, it's way more effective in the vanilla 02 cause it can be cancelled into a combo finisher and has a ridiculous amount of damage. Same goes for Ioris HSDM which is cancellable in the vanilla but not in the UM (also it looks better in the vanilla). Also, great video, now do the same for the most visually stunning game ever, KOF XIII and its neo max supers.

My best-looking HSDM is from Foxy. It's like she is going to sacrifice herself in the name of the team. And she goes singing a lullaby. I can't deny it's sad. But in the same time, it's beautiful.

If I recall correctly, Kyo didn't use Mushiki in Nests because it was extremely taxing on his body to do so, considering in 99 and 2000 he was still recovering from Nest's experiments (and Mushiki returned in 2003 onwards)

My opinions of each entry: #10. If we are only talking about presentation, this HSDM is a 10/10 👏👏👏 Besides that...yeah her HSDM is like a meme at this point 😅 Also, '02 Orochi Shermie is her best look! 😍 She looks really gorgeous with dark skin 🥰 #9. (Looking at the command input) That is pretty much a Tekken move 😅 #8. Probably the most MUGEN-like Super in the game. Besides Ron, Igret (Ragnagard) is another fighting game character who has a technique where she can separate the soul of the body of the opponent. Ragnagard is now owned by SNK #7. The most memorable thing about Kusanagi's HSDM is the line he says when he does it *Gouka no maede...MU NI KIERE!!!* ("By the inferno...VANISH INTO NOTHING!!!") Seriously, Kusanagi's voice is the reason why I like him. He has a lot of personality, hope he returns one day #6. At least K' has Crimson Star Road in KOFMI2 and MI Regulation A. In those games it is a counter Super. The MI2 version being probably the deadliest Fun fact. In the KOF 2001 manhua adaptation, K' beats Igniz using Crimson Star Road. Such a cool moment 😎👎 #4. Takuma doing a Hadouho! (Space Battleship Yamato) #3. When the shota becomes a Giga Chad! Maybe that is why Sylvie Paula Paula tells Chris that he will become very handsome when he grows up

Being a Baki fan, I like Takuma's HSDM since it's a direct reference to Doppo Orochi's strike that is portrayed in Shishinkai Dojo.

2002 UM is a game with hard choices to choose from. You also had people like, Blue Mary's HSDM, MAY LEE'S HSDM, Angel's HDSM, and others that i really enjoy very much.

The fire pillar into a flurry of after images of punches is why kyo kusanagi is the GOAT in my opinion. The guy at SNK who came up with the idea of having a move that generates a fire pillar while kyo engulf himself with flames and punching his opponent so hard and so fast that it creates an after images of himself... is a faqqing genius in my book. It may not have thousands of hits and may not look as flashier as the other ones, but it had the oomph!!...its was so satisfying to pull it off back in kof 98...if you hit confirm into Final showdown/Mushi-ki ...a guaranteed satisfaction and blissful look on your face. I just hope they bring this move back in kof 16. and i also hope they don't screw it up like they in maximum impact. They removed the after images effect and the flames engulfing kyo...which was so lame :/

Takuma canonically is OP as hell, but he rarely ever fights at full strength. He holds back all the time and doesn't mind being the funny elder uncle who is willing to take a backseat and let the kids run the place. Even when on his Mr Karate persona, he did not fight at full power against Ryo even when Ryo was nearly killing him. Lion Killer has enough power to deflect the Zero cannon with the firepower of a small nuclear bomb and he wasn't even in his "Serious Mr Karate" mode. Literally cracking a joke that he did that so Ryo and King will have kids together lol.

I'mma just reiterate what I said in the community post. Shingo hits you so hard with the first hit of his HSDM, that he has enough time to look up the combo he's about to style on you with, underrated, just like the user.

I like all of the HSDMs from the AoF team Ex versions and how they incorporate their respective animal power. Yamazaki's shoud've been #2/3 IMO PS: I'd pick Terry's LSDM from 03 is my favorite, if you ever do that one

I know I said this last video, but it's never going to get better than Kasumi's for me. Just seeing her and her dad doing their style's signature super move together is incredibly satisfying. Of course, I was sure that Yamazaki was going to be No. 1 this time. I'm also partial to Zero and Igniz, too, but I think it's almost unfair to include boss characters, who really have to have that WOW factor by design.

Takuma is a BAD ass, I mean y else would they put Takuma VS Akuma in SVC Chaos and make him a final boss(???) Even tho I think Akuma is a push over, Takuma is STUPID strong, most boss in the KOF unvers are trog as hell. KOF character are under rated imo, there so cool and strong.

This video just reminded me how disappointed i was when O.Chris did not turn into Orochi in KOFXV. I really wanted to see Orochi with the latest Graphics. SF6 tried to do the same thing with Akuma's Demon Rage but at least they saved it for the end

Ioris super sucks. It's so fast. You can't even see what's going, let alone enjoy it. Which doesn't suit ioris yagami at all. Awful pacing. It looks so lazy, he just refuses animations from previus games. And whats with the do. Kof 2002 vanilla super is way better

The Big,BIG problem with HSDMs from 2002UM is that all of This Are reused Sprites from other Moves from The Characters. Since SNK Bankrupt 2000, The Next KoF Titles reused a Lot of Sprites For "create" The most of HSDMs. It looks like MUGEN koF. HORRIBLE!!!.

Thats just your opinion. And the matter is subjective. Capcom has been reusing sprite animations since Darkstalkers (1994) and Children of The Atom (1994) up to Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 (2000) but they werent going bankrupt. And no one complained even though the sprites were showing their age. In fact, the Versus games sold well.
