Fun fact: Tenchu Fatal Shadows was created by FromSoftware, who also created Sekiro. Lots of elements of Tenchu can be seen, like the grapple mechanic.

Just so everyone knows cuz there’s so many comments about it, FromSoftware was going to remake Tenchu when they bought into Activision. They realized that they could do so much more now with technology that Sekiro became its own game. There are coded files in Sekiro that belonged to the original Tenchu.

Sekiro was originally supposed to be a new version of tenchu but they decided to make a new game altogether, from software developed both games

@@daninadine686 I loved tenchu when it came out but I’d never say it’s better than sekiro, 2 totally different games, tenchu was more of a stealth game and while a remake would be cool considering those old graphics aren’t up to par, sekiro is amazing

one game i likes that wasn’t on this list is “ninja blade.” i liked the parkour and combat mechanics. Also the creatures and bosses have me resident evil vibes. might be an unpopular taste, but i remember enjoying it on xbox 360. Never got to beat it.

I kinda surprise that not many people mention this game. this game is the closest one to tenchu. I personally enjoy it more than tenchu in term of character speed and variety of things we can do in the game, like alchemy and choosing faction to support, heck we even can kidnap an enemy.😅 The only thing that I hate in this game is the raid system that I found more annoying than challenging.

Tenchu is the goat of Ninja games, though GoT comes very close, it's just not a full ninja game. That being said Sekiro was initially thought up as a Tenchu sequel but they changed the direction early in development so we kinda got a new one. Not too keen on fighting monsters in a Ninja game so I haven't played it yet but looked O.K. if your into that kind of thing.

We need a new Tenchu Z. with a full suite of jutsu gear and tools/weapons to earn through progression. maybe even different ninja classes so it could be a coop rpg build lite kind of tenchu where all have different schools or learning sort of. idk. maybe even rogue lite also in the form of combat encounters, stealth, strategy and teamwork being vital. if we go down we can be revived if we die however we must be freed from a prison barrack on the map which is heavily guarded so dying is best avoided 😂, key targets and sub objectives to complete etc. Just a but load of missions huge maps cities, towns mountain/military camps. increasing difficulties will in turn increase enemy volume and enemy class tiers as opposed to rpg dps tanks enemy stats wouldnt scale only “armor/profinciency” like Ghost of Tsushima online being a typical example.

Not to be nit picky but arent some of these samurai and not ninja? If you are going to add some like that i would throw in onimusha. I dont know why they havent reissued those. You can get the first one but not the other two. Those games are so good.

Tenchu always comes to mind when I think of great shinobi games. If the character wears a raiden hat or is dress like a Ronin I don’t consider it a Shinobi game. Ps tired of samurai games with a pony-tail hero

Majority of ninja games still doesn't involve sneaking, and you'll have a better luck playing an RPG with class system that has a ninja class, and stealth kill feature.

Came here for this. No mention of Nioh invalidates the entire list. I bought a PS4 for Tsushima, knew nothing about Nioh 2, beat Tsushima twice, picked up Nioh and instantly loved it more. 1800 hours later it's still the best game I've played in the past 5-7 years.
