I was in 7th and 8th grade in 2012. It’s definitely interesting to look back to what I was into back then. I was primarily into radio rock bands like Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach, Shinedown, Seether, etc. and I also rediscovered my love for 80s glam metal that year after feeling nostalgia for listening to it as a kid thanks to my dad. My taste has evolved so much since then but if it wasn’t for this music, I wouldn’t love the music I love today. And I still look back on most of what I listened to back then very fondly.

2012 was both one of the best years of my life and the best year for pop music in the 2010s, so this list naturally piqued my interest. BTW, I greatly appreciate the use of Steel Panther as the buffer music.

2012 if anything was a pretty solid year for Slam and brutal death metal really but I do feel there was even more excited stuff however in the genre that came out the following 2 years after that even.
