It's great to see pop songs converted into metal or rock. I covered "Careless Whisper" that way.

Although this wouldn't count as a direct cover, but I love when bands like Blind Guardian and Rhapsody copy or pay tribute to the melodies of Classical music such as when Blind Guardian or Rhapsody Of Fire did with the final movement of Dvorak's New World Symphony (which is one of my favorite non metal musicical pieces of all time). Actually transcribing classical melodies into electric guitar works quite great. Especially with composers like Bach, Vivaldi, Beethoven, Mozart Wagner, Brahms, Dvorak, Tchaikovsky etc

Oh, and in Cars, you got the call in response part with Bell's "Here in my car" repeating itself along with Numan's "I've been seeing" incorrect. Numan's repeating lyrics are "Nothin' seems" not "I've been seeing." Which refers to the lyrics earlier in the second verse where he sings, "Although nothin' seems right in cars."

Some of these bands or covers I didn't know existed until now. And some I am familiar with are in the list. Hallelujah! Time to listen to Stryper yet again! Forgotten how good "Shining Star" is. "For The Love Of Money" is going to be my future get ready for work alarm when I get my next job lol Oh and Coolio's passing was on the 28th not the 18th. All this time though, I thought it was the 29th.

As someone who also doesn't really listen to much Industrial Metal, Fear Factory's cover of "Cars" by Gary Numan will forever hold a special place in my heart. For it is THE earliest purchase I ever made on iTunes all the way back in early 2007. As well as its music video being one of the first music videos I ever watched thanks to it being included on the game, Test Drive 6. I'd also mention that Numan's vocals in FF's cover were better than in his own original 1979 recording.

In regards to the Still Fly cover, TDWP DO change some of the more dirty lyrics to be more family friendly, given that they were a more on point Christian band at the time.
