I'm in the minority here, but I'd take To All A Good Night over any other yuletide slasher...The film really only has two assets, but they're COLOSSAL assets...first and foremost, Jennifer Runyon as the Final Girl....I don't believe there has ever been a Final Girl who combined beauty, sex appeal, vulnerability, and a sweet disposition in such a way as she did. She's so gorgeous, she makes the movie watchable, just by virtue of being there...Typically, Final Girls are not off-the-charts hot....but Jennifer was. But she's also got a warmth and sincerity about her that make her somebody you actually DON'T want to see get the axe. In addition, the film has the ideal setting...a big, dark sorority house....It's the ideal size, and design, for a slasher movie...big enough, and dark enough, so that the killer could be ANYWHERE....And the Christmas decor is perfect....the tree should be listed among the cast, because it's second only to Jennifer in terms of importance to the film...It's the perfect early 80's Christmas tree, with huge old school lights and lots of vintage tinsel...That combination of Jennifer, retro holiday decor, and the big, dark house....it's hard to beat...

Thank you for your comment! You're absolutely right about To All A Good Night! Should I include honorable mentions in my future videos? Any other recommendations that you have for horror movies past halloween?

@@epictentopia I went through a phase about 20 years ago where I began to search for obscure slasher movies. Most were a waste of time, but a few were quite strong. If that's what you're referring to, those less-known slashers, I'd recommend a few. Each has its' own unique strength. 1.Happy Birthday to Me 2.Hell Night 3.To All a Good Night 4.The Prowler 5.Final Exam 6.Valentine Happy Birthday to Me has one of the most beautiful musical scores of all time. And unlike many films, the score makes the final credits an essential part of the movie. You haven't truly seen it unless you sit ALL THE WAY through the end credits. Hell Night has what may be the creepiest house in horror history. To All A Good Night I already mentioned. The Prowler has a couple of the best killings you'll ever see...brutal, and graphic, but without venturing into torture porn territory. And Final Exam has one of the best Final Girls...Cecile Bagdadi is incredible. She's about as likeable as you could ask for, but with a little bit of an awkwardness about her, as well, and a sincerity that is endearing...Valentine is the only more recent film on the list, and it has really effective kills, and a very impressive visual theme of recurring crimson...
