True, it's not at all what the story of the game is. That is "protect the young ladies all night long or get a quick and justified Game Over". The point of this list is that the game's visuals feature video of young ladies in sometimes-revealing attire and cringey situations, which is what makes it awkward to play in front of others (and seeing as some usually-teenage usually-boys actively seek out "hot chicks", they'd disregard the story). It's absolutely right that it's not on top of this list, as several of the other games here are far more offensive both in general and specifics, but it does fit the list's criteria.

+Haohmaru HL No it's not that, japanese culture is beloved by many people in the west but when it comes to video games they usually are the ones to make the more controversial ones. (That doesn't mean they don't make good games at all)

Yep, it's cultural difference that is the culprit for many of these. America's becoming more sensitive to the portrayal of women in fiction and entertainment, so some of the games on this list are harder to swallow because they're little more than "look at this 99% naked girl gyrating for the viewer's pleasure". Still, sometimes I am pleasantly surprised. Octopath Traveler has a character (Primrose) who is a gorgeous belly dancer, wearing a revealing red two-piece dancer's attire, and her personal skills are about using her beauty to enrapture an NPC as a temporary ally. However, her story isn't at all about "I'm so pretty" or "I want (something stereotypically feminine)", it's all "Three men killed my father, and I wish to enact my revenge". Throw in that she's quite intelligent and a very good actress, and she's far more interesting than she would initially appear. I was personally amazed that I enjoyed using her in my battle party, since over-sexiness tends to turn me off from using them (yes, Camilla in Fire Emblem Fates, that absolutely is directed at you).

Ok my question is, who's embarrassed? (the devs maybe?) Some of these games are hilarious. Leisure Suit Larry is classic! My friends and I had so much fun playing it. Some of these I have never seen. That Muscle March had me laughing so hard my cheeks hurt!

That armor-destruction element in Soul Calibur 4 and 5 reminds me of a similar element in the Sega game Fighting Vipers (arcade, Saturn) from the mid-90s. And really? The Gal Gun games and the Cho Aniki games don't even get a mention?
