What a great move by Devens! Many people are saying that his act was unnecessary, but he wanted to see the reaction of Julie and Ron, if they are suspicious he would play his idol and if they had 0 reaction he than knew that they did not vote for him, what a clever move! I hope we will see him again on another returnee Survivor, one of the great new Era players

@@ajl9772If that was even remotely true he’d have a pretty great case for defamation so assuming this is bs lol. Don’t care what bulk of cast thinks either because this season is ranked last and they know it’s because of that incident staining it and that they basically enabled it (so saying Dan is actually a good guy is an attempt to absolve them of guilt). I doubt think any player from season 39 ever appears again in any capacity. And I think they’ve sadly actually gone overboard with casting since even (everyone is too nice/fans/unproblematic) that it’s gotten a bit too samey without enough drama or fun villains.

Can’t believe you didn’t include Missy getting voted out in 39. She was a massive bully that weaponized Kellee’s sexual assault against her and Janet to get them voted out. She constantly targeted Karishma as well. She’s the biggest Survivor Villain of all time For me. The way she screamed and yelled when voted out was epic.

It was inevitable and overdue and we were close to him having little seasonal consequences if you just think about it a little. Nothing really happened; in fact, if production had balls an ACTUAL consequence might have befallen him other than Jeff scolding him and a general warning. Like, oh no he looked bad. Sure showed him. Not to mention that capes came in for him not being as bad as The Bitches before the season was over and too many people acted like they "of course have to say that Dan was bad" before blaming someone as worse. That's not a villain downfall. He got off lighter than he deserved.

Drew was not a villian, and he also felt like one of the few players that season that were actually playing to win, if anything Julie and Dee were the villains of the season, I remember all of the cast talking about how Julie was making end game deals with everyone, and that was the reason everyone was targeting her, because she was trying to play everybody, but the edit just showed her as the "mom" and Dee was definitely a manipulator, Austin literally gave up a million dollars for a relationship that lasted a couple of months from the looks of it

Most of these are good picks, but I never saw Drew as a villain. And while Randy had a memorable vote off in Gabon, seeing Corinne get voted out next was more satisfying. I would have put Rodney’s exit in the top 3. Even though he went out by fire, it only happened because there was a tie vote between him and Carolyn. Basically the 1st one is about this guy on survivor season 39. The guys name is Dan Spilo and he grabbed a female crew member on her lower Thai in the final 6 of the season and had allegedly grabbed multiple women throughout the game on the island but most used it stratigically to tank his and Janet another player who tried to put an end to the whole situations game

It's satisfying because he got a nice dose of humble pie served up to him...he thought he was the greatest player of all time and that he could somehow win Survivor by playing the exact same way that cost him the win twice already, so it's a perfect example of karma at work when he gets outwitted by the people he constantly treats as though they're so much dumber than he is, gameplay wise

Too many advantages. Too much time wasted on sob stories. There’s trible councils that are 15-20 minutes long in the newer seasons when there is talk about race or crap like that. So those might be it.

For me, I think it's that they just went overboard with the storyline(s). Every season from 6 and on had to have a villain -- I don't know why. I mean, I enjoyed 6, 11, and 12, but every season felt bogged down by their ridiculous need to have one person create drama. In the first 5 seasons or so, it just seemed more natural; it focused more on actual strategy than just mind games and making everyone paranoid.

The earlier seasons felt more natural, like production had little involvement and there was no particular story in mind. The players just played their own game and the best man won.

@@lrockyfan5106 no you can't, Redemption Island and South Pacific are trash seasons, and the only seasons that have tribes dumb enough to take a former player to the end, but in South Pacific at least Sophie knew how to beat Coach by taking advantage of his stupidity, and the only other season like them, Philippines, had Skupin as the only returning player at the end, and that was because he was a Goat, Redemption Island is single handedly the dumbest cast ever, and Boston Rob was handed the win on a not even silver platter, straight up gold platter, because Jeff has always had a hard on for Rob

They could combine their single idols into a double idol that could be played after the vote. But Tai wouldn't do it, because he figured out where he stood with Scot and Jason.

Aubry only got 2 votes bc Tai was supposed to vote for her and voted for Scot to give him 4. Had he not flipped, it would be 3-3 between Scot and Aubry, Scot would have played the idol, and Aubry would leave.

Let's be real, there are more male villains than female villains in Survivor history because that archetype is better established in reality TV. Production preferentially casts males who will play aggressive games because those have historically made for good TV. And that pretense encourages future male players to tend toward aggressive gameplay.

No, bro, the Female Villains are successful and thus they don’t get booted. Queen Sandra, Queen Parv, Queen Cerie, and many great moves pulled off by the likes of Wentworth, Amanda, Jerri, etc. They may not all have the title Villain, but they are badasses.

@@brianezell5790 He isn’t a great villain or a typical Survivor villain, but he roughly fits the mold. He was only in the game for himself and used those around him (Reba 4) to build his resume. Once everyone else realized this, he was gone.
