brittanyS123 But the 3DS has so many RPG goodies :D Pokémon XY/ORAS are meh (but... online mode is great!). The Inazuma Eleven games (I know it sounds bad) are really entertaining, not great games, but entertaining. Of course Bravely Default is a master piece, and the ports (Tales of the Abyss and Xenoblades) are great. And, ATLUS stuff is always good IMO (Etrian Odyssey IV & Untold 1&2; Soul Hackers; Persona Q; Shin Megami Tensei II; Devil Survivor I & II...). Also, 3DS has Fire Emblem Awakening, which is fantastic. I guess Monster Hunter 4 counts as an RPG (?). AND last but not least, Fantasy Life, which looks childish but... I spent a lot of hours playing it. But yeah, 3DS has many RPGs and most of them are worth playing...

Great story, tons of deep fleshed out characters, great battle system, demon fusion (like collecting creepy evil pokemon that you can fuse 2, 3, 4, 5, or even 6 demons at a time to create really powerful allies), personality links in which you can date, create friendships or destroy them if you want...there's enough content for multiple multiple play-throughs....just buy it already, it's only $20 xD

Vora Syn If you like monster hunter styled gameplay: Soul Sacrifice Delta is probably the best thing next to Monster Hunter itself, Freedom Wars is also really awesome.However if Turn based if more your kind of deal, try Persona 4 Golden. Although not having played it myself, I have played a bit of Persona 3 on the ps3 and I did like it. (That coming from someone who hates turn based gameplay should say enough ;)

Check TOP8,TOP6,TOP5,TOP3... most of these games are Side-Scrollers or Hunter/Hunting genre, not even close to "RPG". Btw Disgaea its an RTS/Tactics, also not RPG. (but its debatable) PS: But thank's to this "misreading", more ppl are getting to know about Japanese Games, and there for they get more chances for localization for them.

Filthma Just got the game when I spotted it on the current summer sale on PSN. I actually went in blind, but the screenshots and descriptions reminded me of Gods Eater Burst, a game I liked, but a little hampered by its execution. (Haven't gotten the chance to play its sequel yet, but it sounds like it got rid of a lot of the minor annoyances that bothered me with the old one, so I'll see when I get the chance) To me, the game feels a little like a cross between Soul Sacrifice and Gods Eater, which is quite odd, given that they share no developers at all with the game just being published by the same guys as Soul Sacrifice. Anyhow, I really like the unique dismemberment mechanic, with the parts lying around for you to pick up. It makes gathering resources a bit more fast paced but still introduces a number of risks while doing so. From what I've seen so far (CODE 5, no online play as of yet), the defensive thorn feels a little underwhelming compared to binding thorn being able to topple over abductors with relative ease and healing thorn healing insanely fast. Despite that, it's still a great asset to have around to assist the more aggressive binding thorn users, since they usually expose themselves to the biggest threat and oh boy do you go down fast in this game. I also like the Gods Eater approach that there is no armor upgrades outside of amplifiers that you have to balance for personal preference (do I want more defense/health and health recovery or maybe an attack boost and faster thorn recharge?), so enemies don't get stronger in their damage output, but tougher to kill to balance out weapon upgrades and more varies in their arsenal, giving them more options to kill you. Speaking of weapon upgrades, I do find the timer-mechanic somewhat annoying. Sure it's there to promote you using the rescued civilians as resources, but I think it was just not necessary to be there in the first place. And timers have struck another little tidbit of annoyance with me in the Accessory capture. Artillery Abductors in particular have pods that are very difficult to properly reach and with the very fickle zone detection of where you can saw open the pod and when not has had me shouting in frustration at my Vita twice already. The second time put me through literal hell in relation to me CODE level to get it back (the mission turned into a 20-minute gauntlet where 2 abductors kept plowing through our lines and I had to pull every trick in the book to pass with a mission success). Having to do a mission one difficulty level over your usual CODE level feels kinda harsh, but at least you get a generous time limit and only have to focus your efforts on one singular abductor if things get too rough. Anyhow, despite the smaller frustrations and annoyances here and there I been enjoying the game a lot. By the way, what's your weapons of choice? I realized that I'm a crapshot at firearms so I actually went with a EZ Falke II light blade for all the dismemberment fun, a Gration polearm to do the heavy lifting and a Binding Thorn to stop my targets in their tracks. My Accessory I gave a AAW-M2 rocket launcher because why the hell not and it actually works surprisingly well, though I tend to lose out when enemy sinners have an elevation or range advantage.

tismeah7 watch some persona 4 golden "lets plays" to me this is the best vita game so far, the beginning is kind of slow but afert that you get ar least 80 hours of play time

I now only have 3 games on this list: Ys, Persona 4 Golden, and Freedom Wars. Muramasa really has my attention now, as well as Soul Sacrifice Delta. But some of this list still throws me off, like Disgaea. Already have the PS3 FFX remaster so no interest in that, even with the cross save.

unoder i agree,i love the ys series... i was a bit disappointed with the story though because the other 2 ys game on the psp were great with crazy plot twists but Memories of celceta was a bit weak

It is indeed a phenomenal game, but I've only beaten it once though. However, I am planning on re-playing it again before Persona 5's release. Just to keep the "Persona-feel" fresh. :)

Gameover Gamer I recommend buying Persona 4 Golden also. I've been playing it for nearly 200 hours and still havent gotten all the trophies. Its nearly perfect and definately worth the 20$ price that you can find at most stores. :)

PlayerOne Disagea 4, easily. The core game can be beat anywhere from 25 to 50 hours depending (from what I was told, I've only played the first 2 which take me a lot longer than other people). But with any Disgaea game, there is always power leveling which can last forever! But most rpgs you can spend a ridiculous amount of time maxing stuff out and exploring etc. Disgaea is the exception though. It all depends if you're into that sort of thing.

Yes Definitely. Trust Me. Even with all the doom & gloom Vita stories you possibly have heard, but with the amount of content of these games listed in the video, you are so going to get satisfied. Bear in mind that this is only RPG department and there are titles not mentioned since this is only the top list. ....And if you have a 3DS, please don't sell it :) Variety is good!

Koopa Gamer A Vita is a nice system to own if you are a big fan of J-RPGs and dont mind getting games digitally on PSN. If you never owned a playstation system before, that would include the PSP und PSOne, so you have tons of games to purchase, as you can get many PS One classics and PSP games digitally on your Vita. Other than that: there are nearly no new games for the Vita, its games are mostly Indie games, Ports and japanese games (mostyl RPGs) - so for the majority I wouldnt recommend the Vita, even though its a pretty neat piece of hardware, but if youre into the games I mentioned and the kind of games you saw in the vid, then go for it! Its pretty cheap too at the moment
