I like how Batman's point of view about no killing is not like superhero like but instead he views his choices as the path to better himself because he himself stated that "it's not that hard but if i did it I will not stop "

The no kill rule may show the hero being different to the villain, but it also becomes inconsistent. As it results in many innocent live being taken. But as Batman once said: once that line has been crossed, there's no turning back.

It is an action you are willing to take so you have a choice. You don't kill a villain because he's a villain, you kill a villain its very very necessary, not all villains deserve to die some deserve second choice but once the motive of the villain is to take lives you can't risk the lives of innocent in hopes of the villain to open a new leaf Once the lives of people are being threatened you stop the villain but one lives are taken and more looks promising you don't negotiate

@@CalebDoane This. Also, Batman knows that HE would succumb to a downfall if he took that first step. Call it a weakness if you want, but at least he is self-aware. I'm afraid that in some cases the no killing rule is absurd. It's like letting evil win. The same thing happens in the real world with the give a second chance and rehabilitate sociopaths, rapists, pedophiles, psychopaths rules. It's because of stupid rules such as these, evil roams free and does everything it wishes with no shame and fear at all. What's worse is that the so-called justice system even help such creatures to commit crimes and break the law.

I think the reason Batman won’t kill villains like the Joker is because he’s not an impartial judge, he has a hatred for them. I don’t think he’d be apposed to sentencing them to death, but he feels that he shouldn’t be the one to kill them. That’s just my thought though

In the real world one isn't supposed to execute an insane person. Unfortunately some of these villains are considered clinically insane. Interesting about Green Arrow, back in the 70s (O'Neil/Adams run) he accidentally killed a thug that sent him off to a retreat. It took Dinah being injured in a car accident that sent Hal to retrieve him. (They had matching blood type)

MCU heroes don’t have a no kill rule, as a whole. Bucky does, now. Spidey does, but it doesn’t include six-armed alien attack dogs. And why should it? But that’s one of the most striking thing about the MCU that separates it from most other superhero properties. That and secret identities being the exception rather than the rule. Cap’s killed, Falcon’s killed, Iron Man has killed, Widow, Hawkeye, and MAYBE Banner./Hulk. They’ve all killed. Thor definitely has. Moon Knight has. Captain Marvel has. The Guardians have. The original Avengers have killed both humans and aliens. On screen. Scott hasn’t, Hope hasn’t, but I bet Hank has. Vision hasn’t. The Defenders haven’t, except for Jessica. We won’t even talk about Wanda. The MCU makes the hero kills utterly bloodless. But it’s not a universal rule in the MCU.

The only real reason some comic book characters have "no kill" rules is that the creators and writers had to figure a way to have them exist within a world where their status as being above the law is acceptable to readers. Translating that non-sensible rule to a theatrical presentation demands that writer's cheat and create less-than stories.

I heard it was because writers didn't want to keep creating new villains every time. Putting them in prison then escaping was an easier solution. Since there are only a few movies for a comic book hero, they don't need to bring back villains and the audience gets the closure of seeing them perish.

There are 3 villain types for me- 1. People who did commit a crime accidentally / under pressure / No choice. 2. People who had a factor leading them to become a criminal. But there is at least one chance for redemption. 3. Who had a factor leading them to become a criminal/monster or by birth and who never shows ANY type sympathy towards ANYONE and there's NO WAY to cure/redeem them. (Ex. Doomsday, Alien army etc.) So, from my perspective No killing rule should be applied for type 1 and type 2 villains. Causé they deserve a second chance. But type 3 villain should be killed ASAP.

I feel heroes need to evolve from the no kill rule, just like they've been evolving in storytelling since they were created. First they were boy scouts with a perfect moral compass and always saving the day without anyone getting hurt. Then Stan Lee began making the heroes more fallible and relatable to regular people with flaws and making heroes accept the fact that they can't save everyone. And now heroes have been bending their no kill rule recently.

His taking lives on the TV series may be more colorful... but not necessarily new to the character. Writer/Artist Howard Chaykin once noted that fans liked Wolverine and the Punisher not because they killed, but because they are more pragmatic.

He had a reason he was broken and devastated to his edge by the death of Robin, which changed him forever and it took Superman's sacrifice to make him realise that men is still good. It was redemption theme story arc and I loved it because it was realistic and made Batman more flawed and relatable than ever before

Honestly the no-kill rule has become overused and tainted in media now. Many times it feels very forced just impress stubborn adults and moral guardians who insist showing mercy all the time! Honestly the no kill rule is so dumb. Batman says that if you cross that line you can’t come back from it. But why should I feel bad or look like a villain if I kill a person who has killed millions, tortured my family and others, tricked others to doing their dirty work, destroyed cities, raped people, blackmailed people and all that other evil stuff. Not killing just because oh you hero and hero can’t kill cuz they will feel bad and can’t come back from? That’s stupid. Some villains don’t deserve to die like maybe they can be helped or cured or see the good ways. But there are some like idk darkseid or joker where they just need to have their life taken away. Like batman you turning insane and killing more just because you killed one dude…that’s your problem you made. Like nobody will hate you for killing joker
@camdakill6007

I mean it could turn you into a villain, Superman is what happened when he broke that rule, Batman said you’ll keep doing it and now all Superman does in Injustice is kill, he didn’t come back from it, he kept killing until he got his way, ofc a hero needs to kill at least one time but it can still break them
@camdakill6007
@camdakill6007 Жыл бұрын
@Nate Talks yea but he’s been doing stuff like that for years and years and it doesn’t turn him evil, yes he kills but it’s not like he likes it, he’s just tryna save everyone, just like Superman, yes he wants to get rid of villains but if a hero tries to stop him then he kills the hero, not beat them up, literally try to kill them
