I heard the first call before but it's a very heartwarming and refreshing story. The boss clearly viewed her as family and probably realized she was more honest / loyal than his own family (I could be totally wrong of course, but just based on what we can gather from the call)... Kinda reminds me of the movie Knives Out. All his kids were scheming for his inheritance and meanwhile he gives it to his caretaker because she was the only one with a genuine soul. Not sure that's exactly the case here but you can tell she is a nice person just from how she conducts herself during the call.

@@horaciobrown9754 I actually like the way League of Legends does it. The game is totally free, you can unlock characters through game play or you can buy them; and custom skins can be bought. 17:17 that’s why Dave is just the best. He may clown around a bit and poke fun but at the end of the day he will point out the core of the issue instead of taking cheap dismissive potshots at something he doesn’t understand. I know FOR A FACT that Dave Ramsey is not a gamer and it’s cool that even though he talked about how ultimately video games are escapism and a virtual hobby, they are still a valid hobby if you don’t engage in unhealthy amounts of escapism. Many people Dave’s age wouldn’t draw that distinction or speak in such good faith on something they don’t care for.

Actually detracts from the game for other players as special items and even required objects cost more or get snapped up before anyone else gets a chance. As a gift for my ever loving wife I did buy digital money with actual money as she's retired. Not much money at all, but just so she could get one item. I went to a "part time" doctor 1 time with complex medical conditions. She had excellent training and fellowship credentials. I was shocked at how she was as a physician! Blind sided me. I don't think you can be an excellent part time physician. I don't see it much here where I live. You need to be dedicated and available. I want a full-time, sharp physician not a part-time keeping my hand in the business physician. Just my experience. I left her office never to return. Her skill set was inferior. I never mentioned her name, but when I told the vague story to another highly qualified full-time physician as part of my journey to him, because I won't smear people, he guessed her name in about a minute. Told me her skill set was very limited. Enough said. You can't have it all. Not at the same time. 70k is not enough for a family of 5 to live off of in this country, unless I misunderstood the numbers. Sounds like very poor planning of a very smart person. Banking careers are not high paying jobs that I've seen even as a vice-president. God bless her.

When I used to collect comics as a kid, I would get excited when the magazines would publish their spreadsheets on what they were worth. I’d run to my dad all excited that I had one that was worth $10 and he’d sort of scowl at me and say that it was only worth $10 when I found someone ready to pay me $10 for it. Not just because a magazine said so. Virtual things are the same. They’re not worthless if someone is willing to pay for them. I would agree that they tend not to retain their value for very long, and there’s probably a moral discussion to be had about selling them as well. But they do have value.

The possible argument regarding Cuban's health med-method? The health industry is on a fast-track to flip meds at lower costs with dangerous synthetic chems from off-shore manufacturer industries with loop-hole regulations.

Good point by Dave on CEOs at "46:50". However, I have to push back on that a little bit. Yes, the current CEOs are from state schools, but I wish he would also tell us who pioneered those companies as well as who their early CEOs were. If he were to discover that they were also from state schools, then I would have to back him on his point. Consider: The current CEO of Microsoft attended U of Wisconsin and U of Chicago. But where did the founder come from??? That's my point.

The people that are going to Wharton, MIT, etc. probably have parents that drop $250k on their kid at the drop of a hat. This kid might be unhappy about the spoiled nature of his connections had he attended.

To be fair. A lot of high level firms and companies require high end Ivy League degrees. My uncle is a lawyer at a firm that requires Harvard degrees and nothing else.

The breathless, pearl-clutching lady at 27:32 says, "We have -- are you ready for it -- 1.5 MILLION DOLLARS." And then she drops the mic. Dave sits back with his arms crossed and says, "Yeah? So?" This is more money than this lady has ever seen. But $1.5 million is not that much anymore. It's enough to buy a house, a car, and fund EITHER a university fund or a retirement account. Especially considering she and her husband have another 20-30 years to live.

Dave criticizes Congress for their out-of-control spending constantly, but I am sure he has no issues with them sending billions to Israel every year.

Hey Dave, one way to avoid collectors using whatever means necessary to collect your past due debt is to actually pay your bills.

I just have something to say about the “Rich people being bad” and the “Kentucky tornado helping guy” segment. Yes those people are doing great things that aren’t bad and are helping many people especially Mark Cuban but with the car dealership guy you say he is “helping” all these families after being displaced by tornadoes. How is he helping them when they have to use what little money they may have left to pay him rent?? How is he helping them get back to where they were before when they are paying him, yeah he has a lot of money and can provide homes to “help” these people but wouldn’t it just be more of a “help” if they didn’t have to pay the already rich guy and could save money to hopefully get another house of there own. Not trying to be a Debbie downer but how much of a “help” is it really when they are paying the guy who already has more than enough money when they need all the money they can get to rebuild what they lost?? I think that’s what people mean when they say rich people are bad. Yeah you are trying to “help” but making people pay you as a rich well off man while they just lost their house family friends to a tornado isn’t much of a help. It’s the greed that people see in the rich that makes them bad. Yeah that’s the way the world works you have to pay for what you get but if someone doesn’t really need the payment anymore to get by and they still have people in worse situations pay them. That’s just greed. 26:30

Literally just a smart slimy rich guy seeing an opportunity to make more money off of less fortunate people. Greed. That’s not helping anyone but themselves.
